Amazing jerk chicken and rice !!! My go-to is the succulent buttery tasting cat fish, steak cut, not fried hard. They never disappoint. But on this day, I also tried the jerk chicken tips and dirty rice, WOW! my food budget has just increased ! A black owned establishment with excellent customer service is a rare gem. You can even dine in, I have, This place gives good vibes. A community based establishment is worth checking out. Oh!! and the greens and baked mac and cheese are home made delicious.

I’ve lived in Maywood for many years and frequented this Sharks a few times per month. The owners are nice and helpful and they always have a warm and inviting demeanor. The atmosphere is also great, as they’ve made beautiful updates to the restaurant. Now to the food….The food is AWESOME!! I asked who had their granny back there frying the chicken and fish because it’s THAT good! The sides are also on point! Not one complaint! If you want great food and great service this is the place to go!

This is my first time eating at this Sharks Fish and Chicken. My brother bought me a dinner and it was absolutely delicious. I was definitely impressed with everything, especially the Collard Greens, if I could give 10 stars, I would in a heart beat. Once again, I enjoyed my dinner and will definitely return. My brother is very finicky, but his plate was clean, so that speaks volumes. He also stated the food was delicious and coming back is inevitable. Thanks for everything!

I have eaten at several Sharks around Chicago, but I have to say, today, I had the best 3 piece legs and thighs basket yet. The portions were huge, the container wouldn't even close all the way, it was hot and fresh as were the fries, and the coleslaw was to die for as with all sharks coleslaw. But today, the Sharks in Maywood, IL. on 5th has got my vote for best chicken in town. Stay away from churches chicken across the street, worst chicken I have ever eaten!
