Ordered online, order accurate and Turkey sub was great! The turkey was thick cut and had very good flavor. Bread also was very good with fresh veggies on the sandwich. I will definitely be coming back!

Went into Don's just a drink and came out very stuffed. The Ruben sandwich was excellent. They're menu is impressive. Even better were the employees. Super friendly! We will definitely out back.

If I could give zero stars for service, I would. First time going there, the order was wrong and I answered honestly I didn’t care for the sandwich. I was given a coupon to give them a second chance to “make it right” as the lady put it. I returned and when I presented the coupon, I was told they couldn’t honor it by the same lady who initially gave it to me. She changed her story saying it for a half sub, not a whole when the handwriting on the back said 1 free sub. They lost my business and I now go out of my way to tell family and friends to skip Dons and go elsewhere. Horrible customer service considering they are competing with Adams now.

Amazing Deli/Sub Sandwich Shop Alert!! My children Ben, Sophie, and I went to a local place called Dons Subs on Rt. 31 in McHenry. We wanted to try something new and decided to take a chance. Oh, my goodness!!!! This adorable mom-and-pop shop was so great!! There are so many choices...we chose The Barn Club Sub (Turkey, Ham, REAL bacon (not the pre-made sandwich stuff) American Cheese, and all the toppings), Chips, Homemade Broccoli/Cheddar soup, and pop. The food was HUGE and so well priced!!!
Besides amazing food...the owner was walking around giving everyone free fresh baked cookies...our choice of sugar, chocolate chip, or oatmeal raisin. ADORABLE!!! Such a special touch!!! We sat outside, but there were also deli tables inside. Quaint and perfect!!
Every customer that came in seemed to be a regular and was treated like family. People knew each other's names. It was so incredibly AWESOME!!!The last part of the lunch was that we all got to spin "the wheel" for a parting prize...Sophie won a hot dog, Ben won a ticket to upgrade his next deli sandwich to a combo (including chips and a drink), and I received a free side (potato salad, cucumber salad, cole slaw, etc.) Delicious adorable lunch and a parting prize...WOW!!!! Wow!!!Before we left, we went and spoke to the wonderful owner and told her how nice it is to see a family business like this in McHenry County. We need to have more experiences like this one. I had to share!! Looking for a super delicious, affordable submarine shop in McHenry...Try Don's Subs!! Love it!!!

We are newbies to this establishment. Everything looked good, hard to choose but we had the Reuban sandwiches. They were huge, yummy and loved the little side of pasta salad. The little side is pretty small. My suggestion is to place the cole slaw size in. We ordered soup too but we were too stuffed to touch it. So another meal for another day. My husband said the slaw was delicious and I thought the cookies were just the right compliment after the delicious meal. Thanks. We will be ordering again.

Normally solid. But where's the condiments? Where's the coleslaw? Why are restaurants consistently dropping the ball on their delivery orders? The sub, after I put my condiments on, was good but with this kind of uneven service, they're bound to go the way of most sandwich shops in McHenry.

Very good sammiches. We had the Admiral and the corned beef. Both tasty and we were able to customize how we wanted them(bread, toppings etc ) which is appreciated!! Bonus is the owners are very welcoming and nice seating is tight but there is room to eat in.

Whe had an amazing experience at this place. My little kids and I arrived at closing time. The owners still made us food and gave my kids drinks and cookies for free. Subs were so good they ate leftovers for breakfast.

Everything was great! Owners were super nice and the food was delicious! My mom and I enjoyed a roast beef and cheddar sandwich with pasta salad and potato salad which were both homemade and delicious. Very good atmosphere. Would definitely go back!
