Ordered the chicken caprese to go. It was very good. Especially loved the risotto. Excellent chicken and vegetables. The side salad was fresh and the basil vinegarette was excellent. Had enough for dinner the next day.

We have been going here for years.Food has always been great! Last night we ordered filet special and it was very rare!! Told the waitress and her response was that's the way it is.ordered the pasta and asked for parmesan cheese. When the bill came there was a charge for extra 1.00.when we asked what the dollar was for she said the parmesan cheese. Not about the dollar but really.

Went last night. First time there. The potato soup tasted like condensed Campbells. Very small portion. The Charcuterie board was below average and the quality of meat was disappointing. The service was average, and the ambiance was that of an old pizza place that had a coat of paint and some old lights added. Not worth going again. It’s definitely not fine dining. It’s typical mchenry dining.

We were looking for a place for dinner last night. On a Tuesday in the winter here there is not much open. We had been to UpRooted once before and saw they were open so we stopped in. We were seated right away and our serer, Karley came and took our drink order. Drinks were reasonably priced and very good through our service. We explained that we were trying to cut breads and stuff out of our diets and she did an extensive job of going through the menu with us and making choices we would be happy with. My wife had the lobster roll, which had plenty of seafood and tasted amazing. I had the UpRooted Filet, which was a 8 oz filet cut in the middle and stuffed with a mushroom demi glaze and a goat cheese mixture. All of the ingredients worked well together and made for an amazing meal. We could not have enjoyed our evening more. Service and Food, A++++

We ate here for the first time and we really enjoyed it, sat at the bar and the bartender was great. The gluten free options and amazing for my GF, the buffalo mac n cheese was a solid 9.2/10 highly suggest. we will be going back very soon.
Here’s the good, the bad, the ugly & the beautiful: distinctly different bar & dining room areas in a fun way. Delicious hand crafted cocktails. Our waitress was not very friendly , which was quite disappointing. Both of us have been in the business and would not hire her in our establishment. (Hopefully this was a rare off day) The food was delicious! My medium rare meat was perfectly done, the salad cart is a nice touch, albeit the salad bowls are very (too) small. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her vegetarian main dish. The individual dessert shot glasses are a unique & fun option. If the staff could engage more with friendlier dispositions, & a bit more attention to the clientele, this could be a 5 star experience.

All 4 of us were delighted with our meals. (NY strip, high top filet, short rib ravioli, Chilean sea bass). The Chilean sea bass was magnificent - perfectly cooked. Some of the best fish I’ve ever enjoyed in a restaurant.
