The first experience here left me wanting more and I'm surprised it took me so long to get back. Finally had an opportunity and let me tell me I will be making this a more frequent pick.
Last night I arrived earlier than my friends and the hostess was extremely friendly, understanding and patient while I informed her of how many and that I was going to wait a little. She ensured a table was cleaned and ready for us but made me feel comfortable and was a delight to start off the night. Once we all made it to the table, our waitress Sarah could not have been more wonderful throughout the night. The atmosphere gives you a very casual warm welcome, while the menu gives you a slightly more upscale feel without the price or pressure. All of the options had us torn so we ordered 3 different meals to split, got extra plates and ordered dessert cups to split as well. The food is top tier. The quality, flavor and presentation doesn't go overboard and also is not to be underestimated. Everything is absolutely perfect in every way. We got the braised beef ravioli (Do not waste this sauce almost anythingelse on your plates even french fries goes perfect with the left overs), Greek chicken avocado salad and also the lobster roll. Thiswas hands down one of the best meals I've had in a long time and couldn't find a single complaint. Their little mousse cups are to die for. We tried out the Snickers, Butterfinger and Andes mint. The way the staff was so accommodating and attentive to help us enjoy such a wonderful night together. I will be going back again. Thanks Uprooted for two wonderful experiences.

Went here for an anniversary dinner while staying at the Waterfront hotel. Surprisingly diverse menu, with a supper club vibe. Friendly staff and excellent food. Highly recommend.

Food was so delicious, flavor on point. I got the bacon cheddar burger and my partner ordered the lobster roll. Not gonna lie, the fries were a bit pale but looks can be deceiving because they were just right in flavor and crunch. Service was amazing, really felt treated here.

Hidden gem in McHenry. I didn't expect it but was pleasantly surprised. Very charming inside and the food was absolutely delicious. Beet crostini was mouth watering and the steak was done to perfection. Definitely coming back.

We arrived in the early afternoon on a Monday, so it took a few minutes to be seated as one of the crew had to find a host/server to seat us. However, our server was absolutely lovely, and she made us feel welcome and well-cared for. I wish I could remember her name! Although the menu is relatively limited, there was truly something for everyone in our group, and even though we were there at an off time, our food was perfectly cooked and delicious. I especially enjoyed my side salad, which was prepared tableside with my choices! I can't recommend this restaurant enough!

Don’t believe the exterior. Delicious and flavorful food, big portions, great waitstaff. Tons of gluten free options. The tableside salad bar is cool too. Definitely will be back!

Beautiful interior once you get inside. So dont let the exterior fool you. Wait staff was excellent. We will definitely return. Photos are of the pork chop dinner with mashed potatoes and veggoes. They had the option of getting 2 chops but it was huge; plus applesauce and blue cheese on the side. The other meal is the caprese chicken with spinach risotto and fresh veggies. Chicken was not my favorite (chicken covered in pesto, topped with a tomato and cheese) just a bit bland for me, but the risotto definitely made up for it.

Ordered the chicken caprese to go. It was very good. Especially loved the risotto. Excellent chicken and vegetables. The side salad was fresh and the basil vinegarette was excellent. Had enough for dinner the next day.

We have been going here for years.Food has always been great! Last night we ordered filet special and it was very rare!! Told the waitress and her response was that's the way it is.ordered the pasta and asked for parmesan cheese. When the bill came there was a charge for extra 1.00.when we asked what the dollar was for she said the parmesan cheese. Not about the dollar but really.

Went last night. First time there. The potato soup tasted like condensed Campbells. Very small portion. The Charcuterie board was below average and the quality of meat was disappointing. The service was average, and the ambiance was that of an old pizza place that had a coat of paint and some old lights added. Not worth going again. It’s definitely not fine dining. It’s typical mchenry dining.
