We came here with some family friends who knew the owners. This place is the bomb. The crab boil is so good. We would 100 percent support this place. The owners were so nice and friendly. If we lived in the area we would be frequent customers but unfortunately we are just visitors. Please go support this place.

I'm so disappointed because the quality of the food is worst then China buffet, spending $150 dollars for the meal for 2 people and getting food poisoning is not something I would like to experience again. Food was definitely not fresh just boiled. Over salted and over spiced when we asked it to be mild. Came home trowing up and had diarrhea for couple days. Newer going back there for sure. Crab legs are so soft no way to brakes it just cut it with scissors which gives you the idea of freshness right away. Before I tried the food I was smiling but after I was so upset. Just so you know I went there on Monday, February 26.

The food was spoiled, over-salted and obviously stale. We were poisoned. We had diarrhea and stomach ache for several days. The worst place I visited in Illinois.

**Disappointing Experience at Wild Crab Boil: 2 Stars**My recent visit to Wild Crab Boil left me thoroughly dissatisfied. Despite the courteous service, the overall experience fell far below expectations. As a seafood boil establishment, one would anticipate quality preparation and attention to detail. However, what transpired was a series of disappointments that marred the entire dining experience.Firstly, the exorbitant prices did not correlate with the quality of the food. While I understand the concept of paying a premium for quality, the lackluster taste and portion sizes left much to be desired. The price point was simply unjustifiable given the mediocre fare. Moreover, the lack of proper packaging for leftovers was a glaring oversight. Unlike most seafood boil places that provide sturdy bags suitable for reheating, Wild Crab Boil opted for subpar packaging that resulted in a disastrous outcome. Upon reheating, the bag melted, ruining the entirety of our leftovers. This negligence reflects poorly on the restaurant's commitment to customer satisfaction.Additionally, the excessive boiling of the corn and the mishandling of the sausage exemplify the lack of attention to detail in the kitchen. Corn boiled for an excessive period of time loses its flavor and texture, while the sausage, a staple in seafood boils, suffered from the evident consequences of parboiling gone wrong. In summary, while the staff attempted to maintain a veneer of hospitality, the fundamental flaws in food quality and service overshadowed any redeeming qualities. For a restaurant that prides itself on offering a seafood boil experience, the execution fell short on all fronts. Until significant improvements are made, I cannot in good conscience recommend Wild Crab Boil to others.

? Hold onto your bibs and brace yourselves, folks! Wild Crab Boil in McHenry, Illinois, is a seafood sensation that'll make your taste buds dance a merry jig! From the moment you step through those doorways, you're greeted with a splash of seaside vibes and an aroma that could lure even the most steadfast landlubber to the shores. The decor screams 'underwater chic,' complete with whimsical crab-themed knick-knacks that'll have you snapping (pun intended) pics before your appetizers even hit the table! Now, let's talk about the main event—the food! Imagine a treasure trove of flavors gathered from the ocean depths, concocted into a mouthwatering symphony of delight. The seafood here is as fresh as a sea breeze, cooked to perfection and generously drenched in their signature sauces. The crab legs? Oh boy, they practically do the cha-cha on your palate. And don't get me started on the shrimp—each bite is like a mini vacation for your taste buds. But here's the kicker: eating here is not just a meal, it's a full-contact sport! Aprons, gloves, and a table covered in butcher paper—it's a messy affair, but that's where the fun truly begins. Watching friends and family wrestle with their crustacean conquests while trying to stay clean is half the entertainment! The staff? A bunch of sea-savvy wizards, I tell you! Friendly, attentive, and armed with seafood wisdom that could rival Poseidon himself. They're always ready to guide you through the menu, offer suggestions, and ensure your experience is as buoyant as a buoy on a calm sea.So, to sum it up, Wild Crab Boil is a crustacean carnival that's not just about the food—it's a shell-abration of laughter, messy fingers, and pure unadulterated joy. Bring your appetite and a sense of humor because here, seafood isn't just a meal; it's an adventure worth diving into headfirst!Bon appétit and happy crabbing, mateys! ??✨

Plenty of parking. Small place. No reservations. Pleasant service and quick. Fresh crab, lobster, classic, calamari, corn, potatoes, and more. Sauces to chose from are yummy. Garlic butter, lemon paper are my favorites. Mild, spicy, extra spicy available. Top off the meal with yummy ice cream curls in various flavors. Definitely going again.

Wild Crab Boil is a small business that may not impress with its decor, but it is not bad. We opted for combo D and some chicken wings and rolled ice cream for a total of $226, which generously fed five of us. The taste was good, but not outstanding. The shellfish, while tasty, was slightly overdone and chewy, a minor drawback. Kids seemed to enjoy the ice cream as well, it's rolled so a pretty cool concept. The prices might be a bit on the high side given the quality, but the experience is fun and reminds me of the south. If you're willing to overlook the basic decor, Wild Crab Boil is worth a try. It's a reminder that sometimes the most unassuming places can surprise you. Give it a go if you enjoy seafood and eating with your hands!
