I've been going to this place for years and never once had a complaint until now. I ordered over the phone. Fifteen minutes later when I arrived my order was on the counter but there was also a customer in front of me so I waited in line. The customer ordered his coffee and sat down at the counter. Now it's my turn, but instead the waitress walked away to take water to customer's sitting at the table. She comes back to the counter only to call another waitress from the back to assist her with carrying more glasses of water instead of taking my order or atleast acknowledging my presence by saying I'll be with you in a moment. She now comes back to take my order. I hand her my card; in return she sits both receipts on the counter (1 for me to sign) but didn't hand me or sit my card down. I had to ask for my card only for her to give me an attitude cause I asked for it (and yes she didn't put it in my hand she sat it on the counter). I refuse to spend anymore money here as long as she's there. I wish they bring back the other waitresses or hire someone with good customer service skills. Food is good the older waitress needs customer service training ASAP

First time here in years and its the last! My omelette was CRUNCHY so obviously egg shells were in them. The waitress was handling money, playing in her hair and cell phone then handled my toast without washing her hands. My breakfast was then interrupted by a fly that landed on my omelette and lastly when I got the bill there was a .50 per egg upcharge on the bill. Afterwards I seen a sign that was posted about the upcharge but it’s near the register and not on the table. I’m never going back
This is a place that's a hidden gem. I stopped in and ordered gravy & biscuits plus french toast. I was charged only $9 for the nice size meal. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They serve with big smiles. I plan to visit again very soon and just like the ladies suggested, i'll tell my friends.

Ask the cook to please chop up and cut my sausage up and place it into the grits with the cheese. He said that it was too much work for him to dice. Chop up the sausage on the grill. Very bad experience will never go back there and spend any of my money again. The owner needs to fire the cook. Left food for him to eat

I went to Lucky Diner in Melrose Park to get breakfast a few times before. However, on two different occasions I brought breakfast for myself and my sister, which was a cheese omelette with hash browns and a club sandwich with french fries. The hash browns were totally black and my sister's french fries were black on the outside and raw in the inside. I called the older lady with the white hair, and I told her about my experience. I also advised her that a real cook does not burn up food and serve it to his or her customers, and we will NOT BE BACK, and I will certainly write a Review because other people should BEWARE. If you order takeout you better check it, BEFORE you get to your house..

T his is a nice little breakfast and lunch spot. It has a old time Diner feel. The waitresses and cook are always friendly. The food is good and they do give good portions. I wish they stayed open longer past 1pm. Maybe it will change when the weather break.
