Had been looking forward to trying this place. Very disappointed! 9 p.m. Sat. night. (Not busy) Order drinks at table, go to counter to order food, only menu is on the wall, pay for food at counter after ordering, pay separate for drinks (tea) at table. Pick up order when your number called, condiments at end of counter with full leaves of lettuce and dry onions. Got burnt edges, overcooked dry burger, crisp hard bacon, overcooked fish. Polite drink server and order taker is the only positive thing I have to say.

You order food near the grill upon entering and pay. This is only for food. Drinks are ordered at the table and you have to pay a 2nd bill. Waitress for drinks seemed to be bothered by us coming in. She failed to bring my wife her drink. I asked a 2nd time for her drink and was told ok. Never came. I ordered the pulled pork which was dry and appeared to have been pulled from the freezer. No bread, bun, or cornbread came with the plate. Only bbq pork. Fries were good. Not a lot of choices in Metropolis but wouldn't go back to this place. Lots of choices just across the bridge in Paducah.

Cashier was not very friendly, our food order was messed up but what we did get was ok. The waitress was very nice and the atmosphere was upbeat .
We stopped in for a dinner girlfriend had had nachos that were horrible, I went with a chicken salad that had pretty bland and undercooked chicken served with wilted lettuce did try some of their peel and eat shrimp and found them to be okay but horribly overcooked

We are traveling to east coast and stopped in this very beautiful IL green town and this place pop up to eat. Cheeseburger was perfect and 8 bucks I haven't seen prices like that in 15 years living on West coast. Looked like everything on menu was tasty. Try it!
I’m really glad we went a bit off our path home to stop in Metropolis. The restaurant was fantastic. We had peel and eat shrimp, wings, and a giant bowl of chili. It was a little different ordering your food at the counter, then drinks after you found your seats. However, it worked great. Very cool place, I would definitely recommend stopping in Metropolis and giving it a try.

First time going here and it was definitely an experience. You order your food and drinks separately which I've never done before but OK. You seat yourself and wait for your number to be called to pick up your food. Don't forget to get your condiments, burger toppings, and plastic silverware at the end of the bar. Food was hot and fresh and very tasty! Had the bourbon chicken sandwich and fries. Service absolutely sucked! Server brought drinks and we sat for 90 full minutes without anyone asking how we were or if we needed anything. Grabbed to go boxes at the grill. Chased down the bartender to pay for our sodas and she walks it to the other end of the bar to be cashed out by the server who never checked on us. Food 10/10 but grab it to go because the men got better service than we did. Will definitely grab to go but won't eat inside again.
