Great campsites in nice isolation in most of the areas the lake is nice and you can rent boats to go out and explore during our time there was many lilies in bloom

Not a spectacular park in terms of scenery, but very pretty and restful. A fun place to camp and boat.

The park has lovely trails, a beautiful lake, and well-maintained campsites. We recommend it to anyone looking for a fun outdoor adventure!

Stunning state park in Morrison, Illinois. This time of the year is gorgeous ???️. Excellent spot for camping in northwest Illinois. Highly recommended for all walks of life. Close to i88 ?️. Lake Carlton is a nice place to relax and appreciate nature.?????️.

Our local camping get away spot. Plenty of paths to take, scenery to take in. Fishing is great from the shore or on a small boat. There are rentals at the store. There is a a few pavilions around to sit or rent out for your party. RC club for air planes but not always there. Few horseback trails as well.

Out of beaten way park. 2 h from Chicago on HWY 80. 9atk has amazing camp grounds. Concession store, kayaking rentals. Not many trails but one can use horse trail, 10 miles, just be careful and respectful.

The park is nice, but mainly for fishing and boating. Not many hiking trails. The campground is nice, but had issues with noisy neighbors. The daytime host was great to work with; however, the evening host in my loop was AWOL the first night and hardly there the second. Left without finishing the third night. No refund policy. Only accepts cash at the site. Need to wait for host to arrive to site to pay. However, the daytime host was accommodating. Posts your name, license plate number and zip code on your site post which is visible for anyone to see. Prefer sites where the office keeps info and posts a random number and date on site. Fire wood sold at little restaurant, but closes early. Appears to have a drop box and honor system to drop off payment. They have a speed camera at the entrance and the bathrooms are well-kept.

Beautiful park with large mature trees, lake, fishing piers, and 30 AMP electrical service. No water hookups, but at entrance you can fill your tank. The park is very large and well maintained

It was cool to see the American White Pelicans. The campsite was good. Plenty of space and some nice walking trails, and all close to the lake.

A nice little fishing hole with plenty of camping sites. There is a covered Lions Club platform/fishing pier provided (according to the sign above the entryway) as a service to the “aged and handicapped”. There are concrete ramps allowing easy access for those with limited mobility to multiple docks near the main parking area. The bait shop and restaurant are also adjacent to this parking area.

Most were heavily wooded camp sites. More natural than highly groomed. Lake to fish and hike around. Good time.

Great park, restaurant and campground, BUT, the cracks across the roads are so wide and deep that they rattle your teeth and give you a headache. I would not go here again unless I get a full suspension fat mountain bike.

Fantastic place to take your family camping kayaking canoeing paddle boating and a nice reasonable price good food restaurant.
