I’ve been coming here for years, and it used to be a good spot. Lately though, Avalanche Bubble Tea has turned into a gamble depending on what time you show up. The kids running the place will just randomly stop taking orders well before closing — I’m talking 30 minutes early, sometimes even 45.
Look, I get wanting to clean up and get home, but if the sign says you’re open until 10pm, then serve customers until 10pm. Not 9:45. Not 9:30. Definitely not 9. Either honor your posted hours or shut the lights off and lock the door.
This has happened too many times, and I’m done wasting my time driving over only to be turned away. I won’t be back, and I’m leaving this here so others don’t get burned trying to order anywhere close to closing time.

You can find so many more better options for bubble tea. Not sure what the interior design is about - a bit dingy too. Tea was watery.

Perfect summer spot in Chicago! Deffo a must-visit , super fresh Avalanches and bubble tea. Loved the fresh juice! Try the teriyaki coconut with vanilla ice cream on top…SO good💯

I’ve had bubble tea from here about 100 times or more. Their texture is the best I’ve had. So many options to choose from, right now I’ll grab either raspberry banana or honeydew peach with light tapioca

Very rude customer service lady. Here’s how my call went:
“I’d like to place an order for milk tea pickup” “We don’t do that” “Do what?” “We don’t do pickups” “Okay, but I’m On my way, a mile out, can you make an exception so I don’t have to wait” “No. See you then”
And hung up. The whole call was less than 30 seconds.

First time here today, and the drinks are very goo. I ordered Taro banana, and Strawberry watermelon. Highly recommended. Whoever making the drinks deserve a raise. Plus great customer service too.

When my teenage son was ordering his drink today, he was told by the cashier not to button his shirt the way he had (top button) because he isn’t a shougu, whatever that means. This is so inappropriate and such poor customer service! No employee should ever insult a customer or ever talk to a customer like that! This behavior should never be allowed from employees. We will never come back to this place again!

Always a pleasure stopping in here! As a relative newbie to Boba, the staff was very helpful in answering all my silly questions. A very comfortable, welcoming and cozy vibe. A great place to come alone, with adult friends or your kids. Highly recommend the taro coconut! My fav!
