It used to be a great place to eat. With their 'wait on yourself' policy, it's really a poor place to go. Very sad.

If your expectations are super low, this is your place. This steak n shake is HORRIBLE!!! The bigger dark-haired lady with glasses, who wears all black, has the most CRAPPIEST attitude I've ever dealt with. I don't even know how she can even hold down a job talking to customers the way she does. Her tone was dismissive, as if she couldn't be bothered to provide me with the basic level of customer service that I expected and deserved. Get her some anger management classes, stat!! The place is always dirty, the food is trash and the customer service is ghetto and it's Morton ffs. They never acknowledge customers, make eye contact, or greet anyone to see why they are there. The only one busting his butt is the grill kid. Whomever the owner is, you should really, really retrain your people on some customer service skills and maybe get rid of that lady with the temper and all that attitude. Even the steak n shake in the hood an A+ compared to this store. Will not order here, Period! I understand that everyone has off nights and that customer service can be challenging at times. However, the level of rudeness and unprofessionalism was unacceptable. I hope that the management will address this issue and take steps to ensure that their employees are trained in providing the level of customer service that their customers deserve.

For the big back, double stack, quarterback female that works here with dark hair and glasses... especially tonight, June 7th, 2024... You're a miserable person. I bet you make your 3 cats at home miserable. I couldn't imagine you have a spouse or a man as miserable as you were. You're miserable at your job and probably life...but don't take it out on people, especially customers. And for you to hide behind the wall and talk your mess about a customer and stay back there till I left, shows just what a person you're. I'm sorry you're stressed . Change professions, get an education, maybe better yourself. This place never acknowledges customers. They stand behind that wall. I believe I didn't even say anything to you. I told the gentleman that I called sir,as he walked by me 2xs without acknowledgement, that I was there for a pickup. And even he was miserable. Prolly from working with you. And when you spoke your stressed out self to me, again not even talking to you, I said I was here for a pickup. As you proceeded to hide behind that wall until I left. Be professional girl.

Wow ! I came here and ordered 5 meals for me and my family. They asked me to pull forward to the stop sign because the food wasn't ready. I stated I'm going to park on the side to be with my people and stretch my legs. She says with a louder stronger voice you will go to the stop sign. I said I'll go to the parking spot because of well... freedom. Completely embarrassing and this turn from a family meal to a horrible experience for 5 people. I'll never shop here again and you should be ashamed of the way you treat people.

Update - There is still over a 20 minute wait here. I won't be back no matter the time of day. What a shame for an American icon.This Steak-n-Shake has really gone down hill. Food quality is ok but the service is none existent. I waited 25 minutes in the drive through today and almost 20 the week before. That's almost my entire lunch break. I won't be back. Avoid if you have limited time.

i dunno why if there’s no one in line at the drive thru my online order can’t be picked up and handed through the drive thru window. as i’ve done this same thing at other steak n shakes and they have no issues. I have bad knees and getting out of the car is a hassle for me.

If they had zero stars or negative stars, that would be more appropriate. I went to the drive through, as I do twice a month with my kids on our way to therapy in Bloomington, and "ali" who claims to be the manager was incredibly rude to us again. I first asked for 3 cheese fries. She squared back " we dont have chilli cheese fries!" I said no 3 cheese fries. She yells back at me "I dont need you to scream in my ear!" I was thinking really?! So I finish ordering, drive around and ali takes my $. She proceeds to tell me if I'm going to be rude to leave! I'm like you just took my money! I was like give me my money back. Ali is pushy, rude, unprofessional and shouldn't be allowed to interact with customers. Whoever made her a manager needs their head examined. They always get our order wrong and their food is cold. I will never visit that location again. I can get our food in Bloomington where they're professional and friendly!

I ordered one cup of chili and two large cheese fries and there was nobody in the drive-through and it took 20 minutes to get it and they still didn’t get it right
