I’ll try to be as polite as possible …. I don’t even know where to start, I ordered tortilla soup, it seemed like somebody semi heated it on a microwave but forgot to unfreeze the chicken and still threw it onto the soup… then I had the rib eye fajitas, terrible, no sauce, stale rice, tortillas totally soaked in grease, no limes, the guac seemed as it had been sitting for a few days already…. I’m sorry to say it, very bad experience. To be fair, the staff is very friendly and polite.

I tried Verandah this week. We had jalapenos poppers for an appetizer, they are not from a bag in the freezer. They were huge and fresh made, tasted delicious. Our entrees of enchiladas, carnitas and chicken. Portions were very large and definitely upscale. Flight of margarita is must try if you enjoy cocktails, 6 flavors and all were awesome. Best of all the service made us feel welcome and important to the staff.

My husband and I wanted to try a new to us place in Morton, and we hadn't tried Verandah. Walking in during the lunch hour, there was no one inside the restaurant but a few people on the patio. We were sat immediately. The waiter was fine. He was handling inside and outside himself. The music was a little loud but not impossible to talk. The flies though. Holy moly they were annoying. A fly light at the front would be very beneficial - main reason for 3 stars on the atmosphere. The food is okay, I got the cali-burrito and my husband got the chicken chilequiles. The chilequiles without a protein would have been a bit weak. The cali-burrito was okay, the fries inside threw me off. I really like the pico. I do wish the chorizo was better distributed within the burrito. The green sauce is tasty. For the price though, I was expecting something more. It looks pretty at least. The portion sizes are decent. I may try to come back and try something else, but I'm not sure if I would do the burrito again.

Dined here for lunch and received small portions compared to the cost. The food was sloppy, greasy, and above all- not authentic. The staff is rude, inattentive, and unprofessional. I will not return.

As a traveler passing through Morton, I couldn’t expect the fabulous flavors and quality of ingredients of an upscale Chicago restaurant to be waiting for me here. I was so impressed with the depth and dynamics of the Chicharrones and paired with amazing guacamole I had to write this review while salivating over the next bite. Well done Verandah!

When I was looking for a place to celebrate my birthday, I was recommended Verandah, for the food and the drinks. Thanks to Isaac, our time spent here was phenomenal. He definitely made my day special ,and in addition to being the server, the mixologist, he was also the DJ. If you want actual hispanic/latino vibes, come to this restaurant! Definitely recommend this restaurant -- 10/10!

I am sad to say this has been one of the worst meals I have ever eaten in a long time and I eat out quite a bit.. the atmosphere is great but unfortunately the food is everything but. I have eaten here two previous times but it's been at least a year since I've been in and the quality was appalling. To start we ordered chips and salsa with guacamole. We received some extremely greasy kinda stale chips and a bowl of some weird bland oily paste. Definitely not salsa. The guacamole was just a mashed 1/2 of an avocado with a little pepper and cojita cheese on top in a tiny side dish not much bigger than a single chip. I ordered the bacon jam burger which was average. Decent flavor but the bun was soaked in oil. The side of French fries seemly were made yesterday and refried today or something.. they tasted bad and the texture was extremely oily to the point they were partially translucent. The other people at the table ordered various tacos that were also so covered in oil or grease so much that the shells were falling apart. Not to mention, the shrimp taco is quite literately a single shrimp on the whole taco. Two of them were ordered and they each only had one small shrimp per taco so it clearly wasn't a mistake. We were just so disappointed in the poor quality of the food being served especially at quality price point..

Soooo good it seems out of place in Morton Illinois. The brothers that started this joint are extremely kind and friendly. Food is amazing and seems more like a upscale restaurant in a big city. Nice break from the typical cookie cutter Mexican restaurants.

We had such an amazing experience at this Latin restaurant! The owner personally took care of us—from greeting us at the door to making our drinks and serving our food. You can really feel the pride and love in everything they do. The service was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and genuine. The food was full of flavor and made with care, and the drinks were perfectly crafted. You don’t find hospitality like this every day. Highly recommend if you want great food and a warm, welcoming atmosphere!

We were looking for a light meal after a tiring drive, and Verandah offered just that. The waiter was present without being overbearing and made excellent suggestions. Hubby got the Gio Bowl, which was exactly the dinner salad he wanted, and I had the Birra Soup, which had amazing flavors (yes cilantro!) and the squeeze of lime made it even more interesting. Very light, very good. We highly recommend.
