I tried Verandah this week. We had jalapenos poppers for an appetizer, they are not from a bag in the freezer. They were huge and fresh made, tasted delicious. Our entrees of enchiladas, carnitas and chicken. Portions were very large and definitely upscale. Flight of margarita is must try if you enjoy cocktails, 6 flavors and all were awesome. Best of all the service made us feel welcome and important to the staff.
My husband and I wanted to try a new to us place in Morton, and we hadn't tried Verandah. Walking in during the lunch hour, there was no one inside the restaurant but a few people on the patio. We were sat immediately. The waiter was fine. He was handling inside and outside himself. The music was a little loud but not impossible to talk. The flies though. Holy moly they were annoying. A fly light at the front would be very beneficial - main reason for 3 stars on the atmosphere....
As a traveler passing through Morton, I couldn’t expect the fabulous flavors and quality of ingredients of an upscale Chicago restaurant to be waiting for me here. I was so impressed with the depth and dynamics of the Chicharrones and paired with amazing guacamole I had to write this review while salivating over the next bite. Well done Verandah!
