Get there only to find a small sign on the door telling us they are closed till the end of the month. Maybe someone should keep their website updated? I don't know at this point if she can drag me back or not.

This was our first trip to Mollys, and we absolutely can't wait to go back! The food and service were incredible. We highly recommend the fries, bread, sirloin, and general tsos chicken. We went to celebrate my husband's birthday, and they had an individualized “Happy Birthday” sign on our drink menu. He loved it. We would highly recommend a trip to Mollys!

Yummy cocktails, amazing desserts and food is always on point. I’m vegetarian so the options for me are limited, but always delicious.Vegetarian options: Usually only one or two, but a few dishes can be modified and I’ve honesty not had a bad meal here. If the roasted cabbage is on the menu, get it. So freakin good.

General Tso's Chicken and fettuccine special (with shrimp) were both very good entrees. The highlight of this meal was the special appetizer, sweet potato and bok choy fritters. Excellent mocktails (try the ginger one). The only disappointment was the wedge salad. The dressing was too watery and thin, and the lettuce used (baby romaine) was insubstantial and it all lacked the crunch of iceberg (which makes a more traditional wedge salad).

The meal was outstanding. My husband is native to many preservatives and foods. He was able to enjoy the food with absolutely no adverse reactions. Three diners with distinctly different tastes were all satisfied. The wait staff was exceptional, as well.

Parking is typical for Mount Carroll (a bit crowded at times). While the ambiance of the establishment itself is stellar, the proximity between tables makes it nigh impossible to make a conversation private. Inherently this causes the noise level to be heightened even at conversational levels. The servers themselves were excellent with high efficiency and knowledge of the menu including recommendations. The quality of the food was impeccable. If in the future additional mocktails become available it would be the icing on the cake!

Best restaurant in the entire NW Illinois area! We come from Lake Carol every time we’re in the area. Food is incredible, menu changes with fun new items. Reservations early are a must as they fill up. Visit the antique store next to it for an awesome evening out they have really fun

I have been going to Molly's for years and have been very disappointed with my last 2 visits in December. With the increasing costs, Molly's is starting to give the impression that they are struggling via nickel and dimming their clientele. On the first December visit, the waitress was able to tell us about all of the cocktails and food changes but neglected to inform our table of the additional charge for using a credit card of 3% . I discovered it on the bill and then saw it in the small print at the bottom of the menu. With the 2nd December visit, we were asked to leave (as the next group of people had arrived). I understand the importance of turning tables. However, we had not received our check yet. We felt rushed to pay, and only after the bills were paid did we discover that our table of 4 had the 20% tip pre-added because we requested 2 bills. Nowhere in the small print at the bottom of the menu does it state that a table of 4 will have a 20% tip added to the checks. I've been going here for years, and this is the first I saw of this approach for a table of 4. I don't mind paying a 20% tip (because that is my standard tip). However, this was never communicated to us, and my friend paid the server an additional tip (40% tip total), not knowing this was Molly's new policy. The server offered to return the cash tip and apologized and suggested we speak to the manager. We chose not to take the money back (as this wasn't her fault), and not speak to the manager in fear of making a scene and ruining everyone else's evening. On top of the "hidden" tip approach, we didn't receive our 3% back for paying cash either. So we left feeling that Mollys is starting to nickel and dime their clientele with hidden charges. I'm very disappointed in Molly's new hidden charges approach to their loyal clientele vs. just being upfront and honest. As a result, I'm taking a break from Molly's for a few months to cool off and explore other fine dining options.

Far and away our favorite place to enjoy an incredible evening. From the service to the atmosphere the place is just another level. Molly is an incredible chef and the dishes she comes up with are always unusual and outstanding. MY wife is 60 and our niece is 19 and it is both of their favorite places.

What a great place! Food, bar, service are top notch. This place would easily fit in and hold up itself in the West Loop or Randolph St. Whenever we go out there we try to make a point to grab dinner there. Food has a rotating menu to a degree. Love the changing fresh pasta dish. Bar has unique drinks you will be surprised to find and also change so there's always something new. Service is consistent and seems to actually stay there for more than a couple days. They know the food, drinks, give great recommendations, friendly and are the right amount of attentive. Ambiance is one of the better ones for the area. Overall so happy to have a place of this quality out there.

Had the walleye special and it was outstanding. Also got the Kale salad and Ben's bread for starter. We absolutely love it, get it every time we eat at Molly's. I had the Cuban soup and grilled cheese for my meal, very yummy.
What a great gem to find! Great food and drinks....will definitely be back! The pasta and bread was was tasteful. We also loved the shrimp appetizer as well as the brussel sprouts. We are lucky to have a nice restaurant so close!
