Stopped here for breakfast while out on a two-day concert gig. Such a lovely little place with that small town vibe, I knew the food would be great! Got eggs, sausage and pancakes and it was all delicious. I'm from over 2 hours away, East, so this was such a nice little spot!
Rita cooks every meal. She epitomizes home cooking. I truly love this place and I truly love Rita. Her smile is as loving as the food she cooks. Wednesday Alfredo or Thursday stir fry yes please. Egg Sammy on rye, twist my arm! Her French fries and onion rings!!!

Gotta love our hometown cafe! A classic small-town eating experience in the heart of historic downtown Mount Carroll. Great food, homemade desserts and other specialties. Large "community" table Is a favorite spot for those wanting to eat and chat with friends and neighbors. Prices are appropriate, and the service is fast and friendly. Overall an excellent experience and a place you'll want to come back to over and over.
