For 2 people 1/2 sandwich combo and drinks were over $30 I was supposed to leave a tip upon paying....before I was served the food, before I ate the food. Ruben was served on wheat toast not grilled marble rye as described ....pickle was old and soft and mushy, corned beef was not hot. I was hungry. I ate it. I did not complain. I did not leave a tip. Places where you order at the counter should not ask for tips. The restaurant owner should be ashamed and pay them.

I stopped here for a bite before my long trek back to the South Side, and the person working the counter at around 3:45pm on 5-9-24 deserves a raise. She was so sweet and nice, she needs to be compensated and protected at all costs. ?
Phone app wouldn’t take my Pick Up transaction, had to do carry out. NBD. My “Host” (Micheal) seemed gay yet unhappy. Certainly had an attitude I can’t believe corporate trained him to greet me with nor condones. I’m getting on in life but was taught manners by parents and employers alike. When my order came up, a female employee called, “Pick up for (name)”, set it on the counter and turned and went about her business. I’m accustomed to “Have a nice day” in lieu of “Thank you” but didn’t even get that recognition. No server flashed a smile or gave me a friendly greeting, let alone 2 lost opportunities for a simple “Thank you”. So I see no reason to ever return, no matter how the sandwich tastes when I eat it.

We usually order for pickup. Food is always ready on time and very well prepared. Relatively inexpensive compared to similar places. All around very good. Order is usually accurate but if there is a mistake they are very nice about making it right. In fact they actually comped me on some extra soup when I accidentally ordered a cup instead of a bowl! Also their rewards program pays off regularly so I'm almost always getting a few bucks off the bill or something for free.
