I came in from out of town and was looking for quick take out. I ordered four pork tamales and chips and guacamole, and I was not disappointed! The tamales are so huge, I got two meals out of the four! Delicious with the salsa, crema, and queso fresco provided with my order. The guacamole was also top notch; nice and chunky with lots of flavor.There is either sit down or counter service, depending on what you’re looking for. If I lived in town, I would definitely be a regular!

I ordered last minute take out from this place. The customer service was outstanding. The shrimp and barbacoa tacos were delicious and also loaded. The tortillas were still pliable and intact by the time I got home.When I came in, they let me know the status of my order. The owner talked to me about their salsas and business. I believe they had about nine different self serve salsas/toppings to choose from. This included salsas and toppings like nopalitos and pickled carrot. I prefer spicy salsas so it was nice to have a variety of actually spicy salsas. The mild ones were good too.I was given a complimentary flan and a sample of rice and beans with our order. They were delicious, each item had their respective perfect texture and flavor.In conclusion it was a great experience. I will definitely be back. Best Mexican restaurant in the area as of now in my book.

We have tried several things on the menu and have loved every single one, but the tacos by far are their best item. The meats are perfect, and it's rare to find good carnitas like this place has. The quality is above any other mexican restaurant in the area and it is always consistently good. The previous mexican restaurant that was here was one of our favorites, but I'm so happy that this place is just as good if not better. The menu is very similar so that made the transition really easy I think. One of the best parts about this place is the salsa bar - this is a staple in most mexican restaurants in California, and I was surprised it wasn't common out here, but this place does it perfectly and it reminds me of home so much. The family that runs it are always incredibly friendly and clearly put a lot of care into every order. Very happy this place opened and has raised the bar for restaurants in Mundelein.
