When we asked the locals for a great place to eat that was laid back, Midland Inn always came up. After eating here twice in two days, i can tell you there is a reason for all of the recommendations. The food is incredible, the service was just as good. I must recommend the burgers. Highly recommend. We will be back.

Been coming here since probably 1977 or so. I've had steaks, catfish, pizza, BBQ chicken but the go to has always been sliced BBQ sandwiches with chow. Through the years the quality and taste has remained consistent. Come in for the margaritas, they are a regional favorite and some of the best you're going to find. Be warned this is a popular place and can be packed when college students are in town. Not a bad thing, just shows how good the place is.

Found this by accident. Reasonable drinks and food. Feels like a bar and restaurant that's been there a while. Nothing brand new or fancy but people were very friendly. My husband would definitely go back for their wings. I had gumbo and sandwich and they were yummy.

My partner and I both ordered the bbq chicken special. It came out cold, so we sent it back. They brought it back out, still cold, I also didn’t like it. They still made us pay in full. The server said “I already asked” regarding the payment. I find this to be upsetting and disappointing. I took 2 bites of the chicken and barely ate the sides. Midlands use to be so good. I’m sad about my experience.

An absolute staple of the community, hanging in the sweet spot between Murphysboro and Carbondale on Country Club Road and old 13. Great food, great service, and a strong family running it for generations. Treat yourself with a trip to Midland Inn.
Great food, good atmosphere, and good service (even when they're busy!). I had the fried chicken sandwich and it was as good as it sounded! I loved the lightly battered fries (I would have eaten more of tjose but didnt want a full order more). I will definitely go back!!

I had their beef brisket dinner, and it was tender and juicy. The baked beans were delicious, and the fries were standard. The atmosphere was casual and very relaxing and I believe it's a great place to just go with friends and have a meal or have a drink.

It was noisy crowded. My table was not wiped properly. The ceiling fan over my table didn't work. It was hot. Good variety. Ask about special items off the menu. The fries, the jalapeño poppers were good, but lava-hot inside. BBQ sandwich was dry. Consider the pulled pork instead. My silverware was bent. Kitchen was fast, but service was average.
