We recently tried SNBC MDH early on a Saturday evening (surprisingly empty in the restaurant and plenty of staff around 4pm) after hearing rave reviews on Google. Unfortunately, you really need to read between the lines in the reviews as it's a lot of "it's great... for Southern Illinois" and "almost thought I wasn't in Southern Illinois" but I don't think that's a fair measure to start with such a bias.
We were seated immediately and the atmosphere is... alright. The large picture windows looked bleakly out onto an empty and frozen runway (I suppose if you're an aviation enthusiast and the runways are full, this can be a fantastic thing) and since this restaurant is literally located on the grounds of the small/regional airport, the entire environment/aesthetic naturally comes off that one is eating at a restaurant at an airport.. Do with that description what you will...
While we were seated immediately we were quickly forgotten about as the waitress hurried off to talk to the hostess for 10-15 minutes and then remembering that we were there, got our drink order. The beer menu clearly uses the verbiage of "taster" for a 4oz serving of a beer so we each ordered a "taster" of a couple of different beers. The waitress brought us all a taster glass that didn't have but .5oz-1oz in each glass... Luckily the beers were nothing special so we simply wrote that off as a loss (but to her credit she must have heard "taste" as we were not charged for these "tasters").
I ordered nachos as an entree and quickly realized my mistake... "Do you want a protein?" That was going to be 4-5 dollars extra. "Do you want guacamole?" Another few bucks... "Do you want sour cream?" Another up charge... Even with all of these upcharges the nachos were decent at best. My wife ordered a grilled salmon sandwich with a highlight in the description of a bacon jam. The bacon jam was a teaspoon of jam in the middle of the sandwich so mostly what was had was a plain piece of bread and unseasoned salmon with a couple of nibbles of taste towards the middle... I can say that our order came out quickly so perhaps there was some sacrifice in quality to get speed this evening...
All in all, based on this experience alone, I can't recommend SNBC at MDH. Perhaps their other locations are far superior and maybe we just hit a bad night. We'll give their main location a try and update the review accordingly but, unfortunately, this metaphorical plane never left the runway.

The food here is great, the happy hour specials are great, the beer is great -- but the place is way too loud. This would be a 5-star place if it was quieter.
This place has excellent food. But it was hard to find because they advertise very little. Just keep driving all the way down to the end of Airport Road and park. Restaurant building is on left.
Food plates are kind of expensive but absolutely delicious!! The atmosphere is fun so it's great to go to bar or table and eat or share meals.
It is sooo good.
The staff is friendly and comfortable to be around. Definitely need to visit here.
Parking: First time couldn't figure out which parking lot to use. Handicap parking is kinda far but there is a drop off right at door.
Overall, We figured it out and it was worth it.
We went about 4:00 to 4:30

A very cool restaurant with great views of the airport tarmac (if you sit outside you are literally right next to the taxiway). The beer was great and the food was very tasty.

We had an amazing dinner. The staff was absolutely phenomenal. Elizabeth and the entire staff were incredibly attentive and assured we had everything we needed.
Kid-friendliness: We had our baby with us. They brought out mashed potatoes while we were waiting on our food.

Pretty disappointed. We were excited to try this place but ended up leaving. We were told a 15 minute wait but waited 45 and they weren't that busy but seemed understaffed. Ended up being sat at a table outside that was open the whole time we were waiting. No server came and after another table was sat and served after us we asked if they remembered we were there. After another 15 minutes of no one coming to our table we left.

Most people only post reviews when they have a problem with a place, but I had to praise St. Nicholas Brewery because they go above and beyond every single visit. My mother and I went for lunch on the Saturday before Mother’s Day (forgetting that SIU graduation is always the same weekend) without making a reservation. Not only did they get us in within 15 minutes, the bartender took excellent care of us while we waited at the bar. The food is always top tier and the atmosphere is incredibly laid back. Get the $100 burger at least once in your life. I promise you won’t be disappointed. 10/10, no notes. ????
Best chips and salsa I have ever had. Got a 18 flight of beers for only $12. Almost every one of the beers was actually good! Very cool atmosphere. A must go to place in So

I have been three times in the last month. I’ve been to brunch twice and once for dinner. The food has been excellent as well as the service. The atmosphere is super cute and trendy, doesn’t feel like you’re in Southern Illinois. I had the breakfast tacos, the $100 burger, the beignets and the French toast breakfast. Great kid menu and the drink/beer list is fantastic.

Honestly, we didn't even know where this place was other than word of mouth from St. Nicholas' sister location the Landmark in Chester. However, we sought it out and found it at the airport between Carbondale/Murphysboro. The location is really cool. The venue looks brand new. The environment was really laid back, but professional. The waitresses were spot on and friendly. The manager constantly made the rounds and spoke politely with the patrons making sure everything was good. The food was delicious. I snagged a Reuben sandwich had a flight of brews. We will definitely venture her again when going through the area. We had a chance to sit outside, but it was just too hot for me, but again, the venue is really nice and you should go and check it out. Kid friendly and I noticed the crowd seemed to be a more mature one with a family atmosphere.
