The food was delicious and the ambience was great. We sat at the bar since we didn't have a reservation and it was a Saturday night. The staff was attentive and checked in with us regularly.

Incredible, thoughtful flavors at a reasonable price. We enjoyed new American dishes that we didn’t expect to be good, end up being GREAT - shrimp and grits that matched the south. Rabbit stew that was rich and flavorful, a solid burger and risotto that was perfectly cooked. Service was solid although a bit busy for one server, and drink selection large. It felt like we were having a solid meal in the city, but Allegory snuck out and took a seat in Naperville of all places. Hope they hold the quality up longterm. Although we’re not in town often anymore, we’ll be sure to prioritize coming back!

Allegory has a great atmosphere and an inviting space. We really enjoyed most of the food, especially the blackened shrimp and grits and the flat iron steak, both of which were excellent.
The only miss was the chilaquiles, which were a bit dry and didn’t feel very authentic. Since it’s a new spot, that’s understandable, and there’s a lot of potential here. We’re looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu.
We didn’t love the Valentine’s decoration, but that’s just a personal preference. The place is great!

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a warm welcome. The establishment features a gorgeous, elegant bar and beautiful Edison bulb string lights throughout. We visited the week before Valentine’s Day, and the holiday decorations were a lovely touch.
Our waitress was new, but she was clearly well-trained and brought excellent experience to the table. While the menu is small, it offers plenty of high-quality farm-to-table options. We ordered the Chicken and Waffles, which had a perfect balance of sweet and salty—highly recommended! I didn't see them on the menu, but I asked for Brussels sprouts; they were incredibly savory and should definitely be a menu staple.
We also loved the unique touch of having different designs and shapes for all the plates. We finished dinner with the waitress-recommended chocolate cake, and she was absolutely right—it was amazing!

I went for restaurant week and had the shrimp and grits which is not common but the best I've ever had. Then the short ribs and ended with a spiced cake dessert. This is a gem. They take honor in flavor and presentation of delicious food that you look forward into treating others too.

My husband and I tried Allegory during Restuarant Week 2026 (Jan 23 - Feb 8)! They are offering a lunch special: 3 course meal for $35. Farm to Table dining. Our waitress was phenomenal! I have a dairy allergy, and she made sure I was taken care of. The meal I ordered had several adjustments, but I felt I missed out on nothing! The food was delicious! My husband and I will share our wondeful experience with many and hope to return (fish fry Fridays & half price wine on Tuesdays)! Thank you wait staff and kitchen chefs!

This was our first time at Allegory. Excellent eatery in Naperville. Very loud, very lively. Great food with a different menu. We loved it.

It was a bit loud. Had a very hard time having a conversation. A bit of sound deadening would go a long way .

My 3rd visit here. The menu didn't have as many options as prior visits. I ordered the portobello mushroom sandwich and fries. The food didn't meat the quality standards previous visits had set. The price point is high enough that top quality dishes should be a given.

First time in and we had lunch. Loved the exposed brick walls and skylight and atmosphere. We had a variety of sandwiches and enjoyed them all (tuna melt, reuben, and yum yum chicken). Truffle fries and house fries were also great! Drinks were excellent as well! Waitress was very sweet and attentive. We would definitely go back!
