My husband and I went to have breakfast at Buttermilk on 03/23/25 for our anniversary. When I went to look t the waitlist like an hour before we left our destination there was a 60-70 minute wait so I put us on the waitlist. When we arrived I went in to check to see where we were on the waitlist and we were second which was impressive seeing how busy they were. We got seated but the seating in there is WAAAAYYYYYY too close together, you can't have a private conversation let alone move without bumping into someone behind you or on the side of you. I did not like that at all. The server we has was ok she was pleasant but we could tell she was busy so it was straight to business. We recieved our drinks quickly after we ordered. Our food also came out fast and it was good but I guess by how crowded it was I was expecting something more which the food was just ok. I am not sure if I would go back as it was too crowded and the food was not overly good, nice experience though.

We have been here multiple times and the food is really great. They are massive portions but are consistently good.
The service is three stars only because of the hosts. We had a large party and we were waiting for a party that was here for two and a half hours to leave their table so we could sit down. The hosts should have taken initiative and made them leave. Other than that, Laticia was a fantastic waitress!
The pancakes are the star of the show and are fluffy with a lot of flavors to choose from. The salmon in the benedict was great quality with a good poached egg. The Iron Man and Briskillet had great eggs and quality ingredients.
We will definitely continue to come back here. Consistently great food and service.

First visit. Went on a Saturday at 1 ( they close at 2:30) put our names on waitlist online so hardly any wait. Lots of choices for many different diets- vegetarian, gluten free, etc. It was busy so it was quite loud but I guess that’s unavoidable. Prices are high. You can see them online. 3 of us ate breakfast, 2 coffees, 1 soda, and 2 biscuit appetizers- $125 with tip. Our waitress was great except our food was given to us by someone else and we asked them for butter (none was brought with pancakes) and extra syrup but never got it. Tried to get the guys attention to no luck and finally flagged our waitress down. Overall a fine breakfast with solid choices but in my opinion not worth the cost.

I've gotten food from here before and the first time it was good, but after that I don't know, I got a sandwich from here and for some reason it just felt slimy on the inside, I thought it might've been the eggs but it didn't feel like that so I didn't eat it, then we ordered chicken and waffles but it didn't say it would come with a cheese toping. If they could correct that on doordash then I felt like I would've been happy but it just made it taste really bitter and salty. I don't think I would order again considering the last few experiences.

Respect people time …. Reservation/checkin/ waitlist …..are just words to them.

We were a party of 14.
Went to their website to waitlist ourself. Their website has instructions noted to call the restaurant for reservations for over 6 people.

We called between 9:30 - 9:45 am to get our name on the list. We called 4-5 times before actually got to spoke with a representative. One everthing was confirmed over the call we arrived in time at 11:30 am and were still asked to wait for 1 hour. It is now 12:46 pm and we have grudgingly left the place because we weren’t accommodate and neither were given a proper estimate of wait time.

Extremely poor management over waitlisting and time management.

I hope management takes steps to improve their waiting system and communication with customers.
Despite waiting for 3 long hours ,we were never seated and this made our experience frustrating

Don’t bother putting yourself in waitlist. We put ourselves on waitlist at 10AM to get a table at 11:30.

We came at 11:33, they checked us in and told us to wait 1 hour. We gladly waited 1 hour. At 12:30, we are being told that there is no ETA on table.

Thjs is bullshit. Lost future business forever

I love this place. First time eating at this restaurant, and I was impressed. From the food to the waitress it all exceeded my expectations. The food was very tasteful and amazing. I wish they had more options of meat for people that don’t eat pork, but none of the less all the food tasted amazing. Their pancakes were fluffy and the scrambled eggs were delicious. The freshly squeezed juice was great! The waitress that helped us out was very helpful with the menu. And the food didn’t take long at all to get served. The food was a bit pricey but the portions are very generous. There’s a ton of parking around and it’s wheelchair accessible. They do have some items on the menu for children.

Sharp decline in the cleanliness of the restaurant. The table of two is too small to accommodate even 3 plates of food. Portion sizes are huge. I think they can reduce the price and portion to make it affordable and healthy for a breakfast place

Nice looking place. Food was tasteless, I mean it had no flavor unless you put a lot of pepper and salt on it and even then it tasted like it had no seasoning at all! Our server was ok but she could have been better. I wish the food had a taste so I can give an opinion on it.

Giving 2 stars solely based on the pricing. Food is always good, and the menu is great, but far too pricey for breakfast food.

Several breakfast items for $25+ per entree, and they are not premium ingredients. Waitress explained that the portions are large, but this doesn’t excuse a $70 bill for my wife’s and my order of pancakes, Biscuits & Gravy and two coffees.

The waitlist doesn’t work at all - been waiting for 2 hours to hear from front desk it’s not working (they didn’t notify us in any possible way).

Once, Buttermilk of Naperville was a place I regarded with admiration, a haven where dishes were crafted with care, each bite echoing the excellence of its predecessor. Yet, in recent visits, this once-beloved establishment has descended into a state of dismal mediocrity, a shadow of its former self, lost to an air of neglect and indifference.

Ah, my last visit—what a grim experience it was! Our server, the very spirit of inattentiveness, floated in and out of sight like a ghost untethered, yet somehow haunting us with her presence. Ill-prepared and unconcerned, she dispensed misinformation as freely as if it were mere idle gossip, leading us astray with regard to ingredients and dietary needs, a betrayal that left my choices bleak and barren, reduced to mere fruit.

Yet the torment did not end there. As if possessed by some dreadful impulse, our waitress lingered nearby, her voice dripping with disdain as she spoke ill of patrons—myself among them—while we sat within earshot, captive to her idle complaints. What had once been a sanctuary of flavor and comfort had transformed into a hollow mockery, a grim reflection of what it once was.

Nevermore, I declare! Nevermore shall I return to Buttermilk, for it has forsaken the very soul it once possessed.

Dietary restrictions: Service staff is not well informed about ingredients.
