Ellie’s Deli is hands-down one of Naperville’s hidden gems!
I stopped by Ellie’s Deli on a whim, and I’m so glad I did. The moment you walk in, you can feel the neighborhood charm that lets you know you’re in the right place.
I ordered the Brazilian panini and it was outstanding! Everything tasted incredibly fresh — the meats were flavorful, the veggies were crisp, and the bread was soft but sturdy enough to hold everything together. You can tell they take pride in the little details.
What really sets Ellie’s apart, though, is the service. Everyone is genuinely warm, patient, and happy to help you decide if you’re stuck between a couple of options. It feels like the kind of place that remembers you after a few visits.
If you’re in Naperville, whether you’re a local or just passing through Naperville or the west suburbs, Ellie’s Deli should absolutely be on your list. Great food, great people, and a true neighborhood spot worth experiencing!

Delicious gyros and loved the serving size of the fresh cut fries! I ordered ahead online around 11:30 And it was ready when I arrived. Telling everyone I know about this place.

I came to Eli’s Deli on a Saturday after a hair cut at great clips, where the barbers mentioned that this is the best lunch stop nearby. I drove across the road to Eli’s and was greeted by a clean restaurant with a modern atmosphere. The staff helped me decide on my order—a Philly cheesesteak with everything on it and curly fries.
The food came out in quick time, and it was delicious. The bun for the sandwich worked well, but I was particularly impressed with how the sandwich seemed to have a perfect ratio of peppers to steak. The curly fries were also solid, having the right amount of crispness.
I plan on returning again when I’m in the area.

If you’re looking for a great lunch or dinner spot, you should definitely check this out! I got the veggie burger combo with sweet potato fries and as soon as I took the first bite of the burger, I could tell it was fresh and truly homemade. The fries were so good, my brother got regular fries and they were salted perfectly. The chef delivered our food to us himself and asked if we needed anything else! Super friendly staff and a great selection of items! Will be coming back soon😊

Food is really good. Staff was friendly. Ordered 2 sandwiches and it took 45-50 minutes. Had an upset kid in the car and got stuck in a thunderstorm after expecting a quick stop for lunch. Employee apologized but nothing was done to make the situation right. Disappointed and likely will not be coming back which is unfortunate because we’ve liked this place in the past. Owner should take this into consideration because everyone else that was waiting for their food went out to their car and said “I’m pissed” and slammed their car door. Not one person either at least 3-4 different groups. A deli is supposed to be a quick stop during a work break.
Edit: Have worked before in a local business bakery/cafe for several years and have worked in the food industry for over a decade. This defensive response tells me all I need to know about this place. Also I’ll note they responded this long paragraph faster than we received our food during our visit. Understandable why the other locations had to close down.
