Great Harvest Bread Co.

I've been shopping at great Harvest Bread Co. for more than 30 years. There is nothing like their pumpkin chocolate chip bread anywhere to be found. Delicious! I normally get the honey wheat bread but this time I was introduced to their Dakota. OMG! Out of this world!. I don't live near but every time I have the opportunity to drive anywhere near the community of Naperville I make sure I stop and get my bread. plus they have a card punch Club so you can earn your own free bread.

Stopped in to get a loaf of bread. Love the simple ingredients used to bake this loaf! This bread is moist and delicious. There were so many different breads and cookies to choose from. Gluten free options available as well. I even saw some dog treats! I was very disciplined, and bought only what I came for. Don’t know if I’ll be able to do that next time!

Wasn’t very impressed with this bakery, most of the good bread wasn’t there on a Sunday and the scone was cold and pretty flavorless.

Not only great soup and sandwich but a great staff! Will definitely be coming back!

I called at 3:45 and asked what kind of sandwiches they have. The girl on the phone said they don’t make sandwiches after 3 because their sandwich station is closed. The store closes at 6. And it’s a frickin Sandwich. Seriously? You can’t throw 2 slices of bread and meat together 2 hours before you close??? Horrible policy.

I have been a lifelong fan of Great Harvest Bread Company. Whenever I am in the area, I try to stop by. At some point in the past few years, this location apparently started making their breads in extremely small batches since they always seem to be out of stock of the breads that make them unique. The past three times I visited, they were out of their Cheddar Garlic, Popeye’s Passion, and Italian Focaccia. While I understand maintaining inventory to balance costs and waste isn’t always easy, I am not finding it worth the extra effort to visit this location anymore since I always leave disappointed by their selection.

Best stuffing-bread for the turkey. All pre-cut and bagged too. Must visit place each holiday season!

Bought a 9-grain bread that was supposed to be one-day old. Paying $10 for one-day old bread is excessive. However, the bread turned out to be stale and I had to discard it. Not acceptable.

Owner needs to learn how to control his temper.

Edited, I got a refund today from the wrong transaction. Had the owner not been hostile he could have confirmed which one it was with me on the phone. Instead I got shorted. Terrible experience today. CHARGED ME TWICE, DID NOT GIVE ME A REFUND! Machine said an error with my card, i called my card company in the store upon their request there are no problems with my card. I was there was there over 50 MIN waiting for them to try to give a refund . Employee very sarcastic and gave me a thumbs up when i said i was going to give bad reviews online. May have to contest it with bank to get money back. Another employee argued with me when i said i was waiting almost an hour. Who argues with customers? I asked for something free for waiting and they acted like they were doing me a favor giving me samples to take home, she said i thought you did keto, I said yes but i can give it to my family. I had bought white bread so obviously someone was eating it. Always liked coming here for the quality of products, but i will never come back. They need to get rid of these two. Talked to the owner today he called me. He was angry and defensive the whole time. He is very rude! Needs to take an anger management class. Didn't even hear out my complaint, but was yelling and said I wasn't welcome back and hung up on me! Believe me I do not want to go back! Where is my refund! Your employees should know the ingredients in your products, what if someone had an allergy and became ill because of wrong information given. I was told the gluten free flour was made from almond flour. Had I not come back in because I forgot something i wouldnt have known that wasnt true. All they needed to do was exchange one bread for another instead of trying to refund me unsuccessfully and then recharging me.
