It's always a great experience at Gyu-kaku. It's one of my favorite places. The service was great. Our waiter, Niko, and Rob were excellent.

Guy-Kaku is always a good time but this time was made special by our superstar server Don. We really appreciated the level of service and professionalism. Definitely a stand out location in downtown Naperville.

The food was amazing and for the experience you're gonna get, there's nothing else like it anywhere nearby

I have been to Gyu before and always enjoyed my time but this was the first time I had to wait long for the waiter to come. At less 20 minutes and no water served until 30 minutes into seating. Also, I usually enjoy the food but the wait for the food to arrive was very long. We received mushrooms first after some wait and then it took much too long to receive anything else. The restaurant did not even seem that busy and for us to be grilling our own food I expect the raw food to be delivered quicker than that since the kitchen isn't cooking them anyways and they need to consider that it will take the customers some time to cook their food too before they can consume it. The waiter was pretty nice regardless though. Just preferred things were more up to speed like how I'm used to there.

We booked this reservation to celebrate Father's Day and we're really looking forward to experiencing the ‘All you care to eat' package. When we asked about that option (there was no signage), we were informed that the all you care to eat package was not available BECAUSE it was Father's Day. Ok, we were disappointed but selected another dining option. The waiter offered ‘two rounds of comped drinks from the bar' to make up for our troubles—however our drink orders were never taken—to be honest, we were hard-pressed to get WATER. To add to the nonsense, when we asked a passing by staff member (our waitstaff was missing) if we could just get a pitcher of water for our table, he said, “Oh! Do you need drinks?” We tried to order a COKE, but were told they didn't have any COKE, but could bring a Diet Coke. SMH.... The food arrived all at once, we had fun cooking it and everything tasted good. However this was not the experience we were looking forward to and will not return.

Been there 3 times and had the back room for a mid size party. Amazing service, friendly staff and the food was a hit!

We've never had an issue dining at Gyu-Kaku and have come plenty of times. This time around we had such a distaterous experience. First we had reservations and still had to stand and wait by the front door for over 15minutes. The server was nice but it was not accommodating enough as the mistakes ruined our night. The spicy tofu chigae soup was atrocious. The flavor was bland and the soup tasted extremely watered down. We ordered the 6 person meal. It was not worth it. My garlic shrimp order was not deveined, nor was the grilled mushrooms washed. Literal dirt still sat on the mushrooms. Taking family friends here was embarrassing as we had hyped up the spot and it was such a let down this time around.

Very Under staffed. No bartender. Hire more servers and a bartender. We only got one round of drinks. Food was amazing and did not feel over priced.

Went in on mother's day with a reservation had to wait still to get seated. There was no all you can eat and the options there were super expensive and You barley get anything we left both hungry still. We got one of the mothers day specials and when they brought it out our soup was cold we asked the waiter and he brought out another still cold like he threw it in a microwave for 10 seconds. We had no dishes, forks knives tongs or anything. We didn't even have soy sauce. We had to ask for everything which was slowly brought out. We had finished almost the whole meal before we got our drinks refilled when we finished them before anything came out. It was the worst time I've ever had here because usually everything is great it was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had

It was expensive and didn't feel it was worth it. Forgot to bring some of our food that we needed to ask for. Didn't brink drinks that I got charged for. Fun for my teen kids as they enjoyed the place. Maybe one day we will go back on a day that is slower but I wasn't impressed with the food as most of it was mediocre.

We had all kinds of meat and the pork belly is my absolute favorite. We also had wagyu beef but those are so fatty they aren't for me. overall it is such a unique and great experience. Kids found it fascinating to be able to cook yourself

Food was very good. Some cuts of meat were outstanding but some were so and so. Got the reservation ahead of time but it was very busy so ended up waiting almost an hour before getting to the table. Service was also slow but perhaps due to very busy time that evening. I may come back when it's less busy
