Salt; that's what Namak translates to, is a new addition to the country in the suburbs of Chicago that serves some Indian street food and a few entrees.
We came across this simply by accident. We were hungry but didn't want a full meal and came across Namak online so decided to give it a shot.
We had the dabeli and vada pav; both were EXCELLENT.
The dabeli had the flavors you would have in India. Of course you can never get the 'exact' flavor outside of India for obvious reasons but these folks have done a TERRIFIC job of making it pretty darn close.
Both items were made fresh while I waited, wrapped wonderfully so as to make it easy to eat without making a mess.
The dabeli had the wonderful mixture of sweet and spicy (could be more spicy for my taste though) and the bread was not the sweet American bread one would expect. It was darn close to the 'pav' you get in India.
The vada pav was EPIC. You could taste the flavors, the spices, the freshness of it. If I could have something else, I'd want to try out their side of the vada (they sell just the vadas too).
I had a brief conversation with the staff here; they opened I think 6 or 8 months ago. They don't have a location in the city (PLEASE COME. I'LL BRING SO MANY CUSTOMERS AND MYSELF TOO SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK) sadly so will need to wait to try some of their other stuff till we make the next trip there.

This place is onr of our favorite vegetarian options! Most dishes are too spicy for me but just right for my wife. Thankfully they can tone down the spice for me on most options. The location is small and not great for dining in though they do have a couple tables if you wanted to. We always take ours to go. I highly recommend checking them out if you haven't yet! Seriously though, please go there. We need to keep them around for a long time.
Vegetarian options: Most items are spicy even if spicy isn't stated. They can usually tone it down if requested.
I craving Indian food and wanted to find a new place. So glad we found this hidden gem!!! The food was SPECTACULAR!!! Everything had perfect flavor!!! The bread pakora was my favorite!!! Will definitely be back ALOT!!!

I rarely pen down reviews but this place was fantastic. We ordered a few items appetizers mostly and the quality of food was great, not greasy like most Indian places can be. The taste was spot on for the variety of dishes we tried. We will definitely be a repeat customer. Please don’t change the way you are making things …. The place is super clean storefront.

We've been there a couple of times. It's an hour from where I live. Drive is totally worth. We love eating there. Food is always fresh and delicious. Highly recommended.
Amazing, delicious food. I haven’t tried a whole lot of things but their Samosa chaat is out of this world - mind you though the green chutney is quite spicy so if you can’t tolerate too spicy, ask them to give it on the side. Have also tried the paneer taco and paneer wrap and both were awesome. Nikunj is the owner and he is hands on and pays close attention to things. I was late in picking up my food and he insisted on replacing the paneer taco for free as it would have gotten soggy! Very considerate of him. Both the cold and hot paneer tacos were very tasty! Also, it’s a pure vegetarian restaurant so a ton of options for vegans as well. The only downside is that there is very limited sitting but most people carry out so never been an issue.

I ordered food at 8:30pm and My whole order was fresh. I had 7 different items, loved it all but potato taco was best like no other taco.
