This place is very nice, clean and spatious. The coffee buns are amazing. They are very good, unfortunately a bit smaller than I remember and more expensive. The drinks aren't great and the owners/employees are VERY rude. Not welcoming, not polite. I have came back only to pick up a bun, each time both the woman and the man haven't been pleasant to speak to.

I recently visited PappaRoti in Naperville, and it was an incredible experience! The coffee shop had a warm and inviting atmosphere that made it perfect for catching up with friends or just enjoying some time alone with great food and drinks. Their signature buns are absolutely delicious—soft, fluffy, and perfectly flavored. I also tried their Karak Tea, which was rich and full-bodied, pairing wonderfully with the buns.

The staff were friendly, attentive, and quick to ensure everything was perfect. The place was clean and well-maintained, adding to the overall enjoyable vibe. Whether you’re looking for a quick snack or a cozy spot to relax, PappaRoti is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back! Highly recommend.

Third-Class Service!!!
The service at [Papparoti, Naperville Location] was absolutely atrocious!

The tea was served after being stored in a thermos for at least 5-6 hours, and this was confirmed by the server/manager (I'm not sure who the disrespectful and intolerable man was).

The tea was incredibly disappointing—bitter and harsh, with no discernible aroma, like drinking burnt leaves.

Attached photos shows difference between 5hrs old tea on left in comparison to fresh team on right.

We had a terrible experience at this establishment. The chai we were served was 5 hours old, as admitted by the owner/manager
, and it lacked both flavor and color. Despite ordering 6–7 chais and 6–7 buns, the quality was extremely disappointing.

When we raised our concerns, the owner was rude, abusive, and argumentative, instead of addressing the issue professionally. While he later attempted to serve fresh chai, which was slightly better, the damage was already done. The poor service, combined with the owner’s attitude, ruined the experience for us.

We left without finishing our chai or buns, feeling like it was a complete waste of time and money. I would not recommend this place at all!!! Our first experience was the same still thought of giving second chance but waste of time and money then, and now!

Cozy and inviting, Papa Roti at Naperville is a great spot for a quick chai/coffee or a relaxed catch-up. The Turkish coffee is rich and flavorful, with a great selection of signature buns that are always fresh. The staff is friendly and attentive, creating a warm atmosphere. The minimalist décor and soft background music make it a comfortable place to unwind. Highly recommend the Turkish coffee with bun!

I rarely write reviews, but my experience at Pappa Roti Naperville has compelled me to share my thoughts. Pappa Roti is one of my favorite international brands, and I was thrilled to see it come to Chicago and the suburbs. Sadly, the Chicago location closed, and Naperville also faced its challenges before being taken over by a Pakistani family—Sajjad and his son.

Initially, I found this Naperville location to be hit or miss. With my background in the restaurant and fast-food industry, it pains me to say this: unless you’re here for the original bun and karak chai, I wouldn’t recommend anything else.

The original bun, while not always the perfect shape or form, is consistently delicious, and I’ve been visiting off and on for about 1.5 years under the new ownership. The chai is another story—it’s a gamble. When it’s good, it’s fantastic, but when it’s not, it’s a real letdown. As an international brand, consistency is crucial, especially in today’s competitive landscape with chai spots opening on every corner. Unfortunately, the rest of the menu doesn’t deliver, and the off-menu items are not worth trying.

Service is another major issue. When Sajjad (“uncle”) is present, things run slightly better, but he can be forgetful and difficult to reason with. Without him, when only his son is managing, the experience deteriorates significantly. The son lacks any sense of urgency and seems entirely disinterested in the business, to the point where customers could walk out without him noticing. This lack of management and passion is deeply concerning and will only drive the business further into the ground.

Cleanliness is also a glaring problem. I’ve witnessed raw hand contact with cookies, gloves being used to handle both money and food, and an overall disregard for basic hygiene practices. These issues are unacceptable in any food establishment and need to be addressed immediately.

I genuinely want to support this family and see them succeed, but their unwillingness to improve their operations and adapt is deeply concerning. Without proper training, better management, and a commitment to cleanliness and consistency, their chances of long-term success seem slim.

My hope is that they invest in training, streamline their operations, and take pride in delivering the quality that Pappa Roti’s international reputation demands. There’s so much potential here, but until those changes happen, I can only recommend sticking to the original bun and karak chai—if you’re lucky enough to visit on a good day.

Expect to wait a bit if you're ordering a fresh bun or Turkish coffee, but know it'll be worth it! Fluffy inside, and crisp cookie outside, these buns are always a delight!
