Jig you are a master chef. If you haven't tried this place yet, go now..... From the service to the taste of the food hands down excellent!!!! So many choices of goodness. Definitely recommend the waygu Philly steak it is freaking amazing and the garlic parmesan fries were a great side. This was my first time eating at Patelli’s and I will go back the next time I come to Illinois.
I daydream and look at the clock way too much thinking about a gyro from here! I swear it's the best around, the meat is the right perfect balance of crispy edges and soft melts in the middle. Each bite is better. This thing is huge also. I really should split it in two meals... but never do! The fries are crinkle cut, slightly salted. The are known for the crispy beef roll that my co-worker raves about. I have not had it yet. After 6 visits I have never been disappointed, just at myself for not stopping in sooner

The crispy Italian beef roll is phenomenal - imagine a classic Italian beef but deep fried. The side of jus is definitely made from scratch, herbs seem fresh in it.The giardiniera is very spicy but addicting! It is also the size of my forearm, so a great price for the size and quality. I did try other items on the menu that were great but this dish knocked my socks off.

I don’t know how this place has gotten so many good reviews. I’ve eaten at 3 different Patellis, and I haven’t felt I’ve gotten great value at any, but this is blatantly the worst. Everything about it just screams you’re paying too much. The interior looks like it was recently abandoned by another business and taken over without so much as fresh paint. I had the gyros meal, which I get at many joints like this. $14 is steep, but times being what they are post pandemic, I’m becoming resigned to it. HOWEVER, any other place I spend that on a gyro meal I receive a ton of meat and fries. Here, portion of meat is small by comparison, and you get a very small bag of fries. I don’t expect to still be hungry after spending $14 at a fast service place. Even the music playing - covers of adult contemporary classics, not even done by notable artists, but by some random singers with studio arrangements. And it’s not even functioning properly, with lots of breaks and crackling. Additionally, the front soda machine was apparently not working, so the staff has to get you refills if you want one. I could see where some people will choose to not bother, so I have to wonder if that’s intentional. And I know the suggestion on the napkin dispenser to wipe my hands on my clothes is supposed to be funny, but colored by everything else it just comes off as cheap.Maybe it’s the high rent of a desirable location? Yeah, no. A small strip near an industrial area, not exactly the holy grail of locations.I won’t be returning here, or likely any other Patellis now after this visit. I’ll go where I can get some value for what I spend, and where it feels like someone cares about my experience as much as their bottom line.I didn’t include a photo of the gyros because they were gone before I even thought of writing this review, but here’s the bag the fries came in and a couple of examples of the condition of the restaurant.
