Piccolo Buco - Naperville

I've eaten at Piccolo Buco a couple times now and I am very pleasantly surprised! I am only so so on the traditional Cooper's Hawk restaurants, I find their menu items very boring and unimaginative. Not to mention they never change! Piccolo Buco is none of that. Very unique and well thought out items that I cannot wait to further explore. Initial experience is five stars all day!

I was very disappointed with this experience. The food was okay, but the service and several issues throughout the visit made the evening frustrating.

I usually go to the Oak Brook location and order the meat and cheese plate. Instead of the salami, they served small spicy pepperoni. The manager did come over and eventually brought the salami, which I appreciated.

My guest and I both ordered wine slushies, but another waitress brought only one and it was the wrong flavor. I asked the manager to bring another one. When our waitress finally came back, she said they were out of one of the flavors and seemed surprised when I told her I wanted one too, even though I had originally ordered one as well.

The waitress also went to look up my wine membership and came back saying that I didn’t have any bottles available. I told her that was incorrect, and she said she would check again. We had to flag her down later to see if she had looked it up because we were waiting to order a bottle of wine. She apologized and said she was “so busy” that she forgot.

Later, I ordered a bottle of the Barrel Reserve. I usually don’t finish a full bottle of wine and like to take the rest home. I was very disappointed to find out it was served in a carafe instead of a bottle. I only drank about one glass and had to leave the rest behind. If I had known it would be served that way, I would have ordered just a glass instead of using one of my bottles.

The service also took a long time throughout the visit. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I think we’ll be sticking with the Oak Brook location in the future.

Pizza was amazing and the vodka pasta as well. I’m giving a 5 star on food and service but please train servers to open bottles of wine at the table.

This place is a total scam. I have been a Cooper’s Hawk Wine Club member for years, and decided to try this place out because I was given a loyalty offer. For starters, they charge 50% plus mark-ups on Cooper’s Hawk wines, which is absolutely absurd given that they are literally owned by CH. This is blatant double-dipping and is completely wrong. Beyond that, the price of the food is not justified by its quality. The food was fine, but Cooper’s Hawk provides better food for lower costs, as well as cheaper wine. Avoid this place at all costs, it’s a complete scam to drain money from Cooper’s Hawk customers. I will never be going back to a Piccolo Buco location as long as I live.

Food here is great. Me and my friends tried the carbonara pasta, and it was delicious. The service was excellent, we landed a great waitress, her name was Ilyana and hospitality wise killed it. I felt right at home with her.

Had a delicious dinner last evening. Tried the barrel reserve wine and found it to be very good. It complemented our appetizers and main course choices.
Iliana our server was delightful! She was pleasantly friendly and very knowledgeable about the wine and the food menu. Would definitely ask for table next time.

Super salads and great stuffed squash blossoms. Tea was good, too. Great place to talk. Easy to hear each other even in a popular restaurant for a Sunday lunch. Peter was a cheerful, knowledgeable server who took care of us without interrupting our visiting with friends.

My server Paige was absolutely amazing!
She was extremely warm and welcoming
She made great recommendations along the way, everything she did suggest and we did eat was amazing!
Will be requesting Paige next time I go in

We had The best time tonight. The food was outstanding and the atmosphere was wonderful. Our server, Iliana, had impeccable timing. She was there when we needed our next drink. I’d give it six stars if I could. Iliana is wonderful. Ask for her when you come in if you want have fantastic service with great advice on food and wine.
