Did not enjoy my overall experience. The ambience was all over the place.I was excited to go because it was halaal but I guess my expectations were too high.

The only disappointing part of my experience was that Walker's had not obtained a liquor license yet, and I was hoping for a cocktail with my steak. Next time.

My husband and I went there on a date night thinking it was fine dining , however the ambiance was more like a diner. Which is fine. Just not what we expected. However not fine when they are charging us price fit for a fine restaurant. My husband ordered bone-in ribeye. I ordered chicken marsala. My dish was good and price point was reasonable. The side of garlic mashed potato was just ok. No hint of garlic at all. It wasn't creamy . The one I get from Costco is more flavorful. The rice pilaf was also just ok. Chicken with pearl onion , mushrooms and sauce was good . Now for the steak. Man! It was beyond disappointing. First , it certainly did not seem prime. There was so much connective tissue that my husband couldn't chew through it. Almost choked and spat it out and the spare plate filled up with it. Eww! The way to cook steak is to sear it and to get char marks, and it should have a ring where the top brown meets with the inner when you cut, and the depth of the ring depends on whether it's medium or rare etc. It was medium rare but the ring was lacking. It had little if any char marks and tasted more like boiled or steamed steak. Quite pathetic ! Also it wasn't even seasoned. There was hardly any salt or pepper . It's sad and very frustrating that desis want to charge the price tag similar to or higher than American fine restaurants but don't offer the same quality. Check out Morton's , pappadeaux, and the epic, epic Nomi in Chicago: On magnificent mile , in the center of downtown opposite water tower, with amazing ambiance, serves prime ribeye with 4 sides, for $56!!! The chef came up to us, fully dedicated to customizing our food ( vege and fish) , accommodating our special needs like using separate pans , fresh oil, and utensils etc. Gibsons serves grassfed Australian ribeye 14 oz for $56!! Their prices are similar or lower and their quality is wayyy better , no comparison . Never had but you can look at picture and tell! And we , at this restaurant, got a pathetic steak that could not be swallowed properly because of the fibrous tissue which was not chewable , for $53!!! It is sad that Muslim business owners rip us off because they know we are limited in our zabiha options. They should have the common decency to charge what they deserve. We love to patronize Muslim businesses and we do. Even in covid we didn't want to eat or take away from Outside but we did bring food from the desi restaurants from time to time just so they could stay in business, but these kinds of things really bother us. We understand they need to make profit. But then offer what you are asking for. Let me also point out that menu came in a school kind of folder with paper printed pages. They weren't even laminated. No attention to details. The staff ( a guy) was sitting , hanging rather loosely on the bar. Not something you expect from staff. They were out of all of their mocktails, not even bavarian apple or even pakola! They only had standard coke. The bread was fresh and crusty, however not something to die for. It wasn't served right away as restaurants do. It took them some time to bring it. the butter was a regular mini store bought butter which was cold! It should be at room temperature so it can be spread easily.. ! I had to fight with it. I am also thinking that most desis have not encountered real steak because zabiha steak is not readily available so maybe they don't know all the details of what a steak should be like. Maybe that's why they think any piece of zabiha meat cooked any way is a steak! But to be honest my 10 years old son who has never had nonzabiha can also tell the difference between a good and unpalatable steak. We eat zabiha too and my husband bought a prime ribeye from a Mediterranean store as well as Wagyu and when he cooked it, it was far far superior in taste, no fibrous tissue, melt in the mouth and good sear marks, tender from inside! Next time we make, we will post pictures! If someone is happy just eating zabiha steak, and to them quality and cook

We were a group of 12 people on a Saturday night. There were only two wait staff and restauran was half full. Upon asking we were brought silverware as only half of us had it. The menu was extensive but they had only three steaks available. Only two desserts from the menu and they were out of one drink that we all wanted. The waiter was pleasant but by the end of it he was a zombie. the steak was tough and not too juicy and so was the prime rib. Overall it was a disappointmen.

Stay away from the steak and go for the ribs.Quality of the steak was disappointing considering the prices of the steak. Also, seasoning was just not there. Definitely lacked salt and was not really cooked medium rare. It still had the hard texture. If I were to come back, I would get their ribs. This is why I’m giving it 3 stars instead of 2. The bbq sauce was nice and meat was tender.

Changed ownership. Not the same quality. The details are no longer there, nor the atmosphere. We used to go every Saturday night and have a cocktail. No cocktails. And they screwed up our to go order by giving us the wrong steak. We wanted a prime rib.

Strip mall restaurant. The last review noted that the exterior sign was not lit 6 months ago, it is still not lit. Decor is a bit Beetlejuice and a bit 90's bar. No alcohol available at all. Asked if meat was "prime" was told "yes, we have Prime rib" I can assure you the fillett was not prime and the baked potato was microwaved. Staff did not have masks on and the uniforms were black Tshirts and black pants. Not professional for a steak house. First sign that we should have turned around and left was that there were 2 tables at 5:30pm on a Saturday night. I would not recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.

Would highly not recommend. Not at all what we expected. I would not recommend to any of my friends or family.

Was disappointed! I had no idea that one of the best places for steaks and burgers is now under new management. They no longer have a bar service. The food was not up to the Walker's name. They should really change the name of the restaurant because people are expecting a great steakhouse with a bar. The food was just ok. Won't be going back!

Food wasn’t that great. A lot of items are basic the buffalo Mac and cheese I had high expectations as many places don’t have halal. They should work on the sauce /cheese they put in it. The steak could be very salty to some. Ambiance is nice.

One of our favorite restaurants, Walkers Char House, has changed hands. We were met at the door by a very nice woman wearing a hijab who asked us if we had been there before. We said "yes" and she said something like "I must inform you that we no longer serve any alcohol." We didn't stay for dinner, so I really don't know how the food is, but we like to have a glass of wine with our meal. We have been going there about twice a month until now.

The main reason I am writing this is because this place is overpriced. You can put a price on quality and this ain’t it. You get 5 shrimp $15 and Mac and cheese with a piece of chicken is $25. You can taste quality and this ain’t it. I been to plenty of steakhouses and walked away knowing I paid for what I got. And this place definitely isn’t worth the price if they are going off of quality. I do not usually do this but I have to be transparent to people who want to visit this place. We came in for a birthday and the waiter was nice. He was attentive and very plesant so I gave him the 2 stars for his service.
