For a 57 dollar steak that I paid to have them cook. Their first atemt raw when ordered medium. 2nd time charbroil on outside still not cooked. Their was 5 of us. 2 of the steaks good. The other 3 not so much. To have that kind of food on a 250 bill pretty bad. Service was bad due to understaffed not really his fault. But still not impressed

Great quality steaks and a unique atmosphere. It's a comfortable dining room good for families, coworkers, or friends. Good bar and beer selection too. A good steak dinner will run about $40 which includes a salad bar, potato, and Texas toast.

If it wasn't for our server Jackson, I would give this a 1 star or maybe no star.
Alexander's Steakhouse standards have slipped a lot over the years. I had family come over from England and I told them how great this place was, so I took them there. Omg how much Alexander's standards have slipped at the one in Normal.
My nephew and I ordered the Porterhouse steak at $56 each and my great nephew wanted a hamburger. We go to the refrigerator and and no Porterhouse steaks were there and no hamburger. I had to wait about 5 or 6 minutes to get someones attention. Finally I found someone, and he brings out 1 Porterhouse steak and I told him with need another one, so I had to wait another 7 to 8 minutes to bring another out. We get to the grill and no baked potatoes ready. So I asked another person when are the baked potatoes coming out. Had to wait 8 minutes for them to bring them out. Then my great nephew order fries for his hamburger and the manager told us to let them know we were ready for the fries it only takes them about 2 to 3 minutes is what we were told.So we did and we are waiting around for about 10 minutes and no Fries. So I had to go to the bar and asked where are my great nephew fries.
After all this I was upset. Spoke to the manager Camden and he said well I give you a free skillet cookie. I told him I just eaten a big steak and I couldn't eat a skillet cookie. I felt like he was just passing me off and he just made what I felt like silly excuses for the issues. Also where the plates were stacked up for customers to use, the tablecloth was very dirty, but they had a sign above telling customers to use a clean plate for cooked meats.
If people read this post. Save your money and maybe go somewhere else.

Food was good for me. Not so much for my wife. Somehow, at pretty much every place she orders steak, She gets a tiny piece of meat, asks for medium- well and gets burnt shoe leather. No different here. Same thickness as mine on one end and paper thin on the other. She couldn't even finish it. We mentioned it three times politely and nothing done, but the server apologized each time. We didn't get angry or anything. But no discounted price for not being able to eat half the tiny steak. Discount not required, but certainly goes a long way towards wanting to eat there again. Especially when it's 45+ miles away. Both had the New York strip. Baked potato with mine. Sweet potato fries for her. $32+. For lunch

The price doesn’t match the cut and quality of the steaks. I’ve been to several steakhouses around this price range with far better cuts of meat. My wife and I shared a 16oz ribeye and paid an additional $15 just to get an additional salad bar (which is very limited) and a baked potato. The steak comes out…I was gonna send it back but we were hungry as we waited quite a while to get it. It seemed more like a NY strip than a ribeye. It was a little chewy and there simply couldn’t be much marbling in that cut and it was a little dry. I also asked for medium-well some pink and it was more on the well done side. I was also under the impression they would cut the steak as a courtesy since we were sharing. Nope! They brought it on one plate and sat it in front of my wife. They brought my plate with a little dried up baked potato on it and sat it in front of me. The restaurant itself is a little older as well. Reminds of Bonanza from back in the day. If you want a good steak I wouldn’t come here. You can probably get just as good a quality at Longhorn, Logan’s or Outback. It was a busy Friday night and service was incredibly slow as well. The ability to cook your own steak is unique and a selling point for eating here. But you can get the same or better results getting a prime cut from your local butcher and firing up the grill.

This review is strictly about the food. YOU DON’T NOT GET YOUR MONEY WORTH HERE. 1st the presentation was completely boring didn’t look good at all. I ordered the ribeye with potatoes and toast. The toast was bigger than the steak. The potato was extremely small. I order a loaded potato the waiter brings over cups of accessories (bacon cheese sour cream butter) like REALLY. Last But not least the steak had so much fat meat I could not even enjoy the little piece I did have and the sauce was so thick did not like it at all. This is the worst steakhouse I ever been to. It was four of us and our bill was over $200 sum Dollars it was definitely not worth it. And don’t let me get started on the refills we ordered iced teas, We got the tea, but no ice. This steakhouse is definitely a joke. Never again Upon leaving, we still left a tip .
