Make sure if you go here and the power “ goes out “ like it seems to do quite frequently you take it upon yourself to go make sure your food is being cooked. Me and my kids waited 40 minutes and when others started getting their food before us we finally asks where ours was the reason given was because the power went out so our order was lost even though they saw us sitting in their dining room with a number on our table ? So after the 40 minutes we were told they would start making ours and it would be 7 minutes longer , we decided to wait , after another 12 minutes and over an hour after it was said and done we said forget it and got our money back….. we tried getting told “ well that’s your food right there “ as I was getting my refund lol and the nice lady behind the counter replied to the lady no it’s not it’s another tables …. Just a warning to anyone going here to eat inside of the power goes out check on your order !!!

We ordered a kids chicken strips and a basket of fries. While we waited patiently with our number (12), other guests arrived and placed their orders. After noticing that people who ordered after us had finished their entire meals, I went up to the management and asked what happened to our order. I was then told that it was because I ordered chicken strips that it took over forty minutes to make such a simple order. Keep in mind that a family with four children who came in after us had already gotten their fries and were halfway done with their ice cream. Another table that had two gentlemen who also ordered after us had finished their cheeseburgers. I have been a professional in the short order cooking business for over twelve years in the past, and I know for a fact it does not take that long to make chicken fingers (even if they were made from scratch and not frozen). I usually buy the gift certificates every Black Friday, but that will never happen again. I will never return to this establishment. Please feel free to reach out to me to buy my unused $30 gift certificates at half price, but be warned---this place is poorly managed, understaffed, and desperate for a line cook who can manage a couple deep-frier orders in a timely manner. Although I prefer to support local businesses, there are far better alternatives in town, like Culver's and Gene's. So ends about twenty years of patronage and many good family memories.

A traditional stop on Route 66 in this area! I love their seasonal flavors especially rum raisin during the winter!

My husband and I went to get a hot dog from there last night. I had a chili dog and he had the Chicago dog. We were very disappointed. The hot dog had no flavor and tasted like it's been in water for months. I mean zero flavor! $13 wasted! We love Carl's and we're so disappointed. We will be sticking to the ice cream from now on.

I missed this place since I moved to Indianapolis. Best soft serve ever!

Went here with some friends after school, we beat the crowd but the food did take a little to out. The food was good did go in and order something else.

I came in before they were closed the lady treated my family and another family like garbage telling everybody that they closed when the door was clearly marked they were open and became very snarky and rude and told people not to argue with her and then we decided to leave. I will not go to that restaurant again and I encouraged anybody else not to go there either it is unacceptable Behavior it is unprofessional and that young lady needs to be fired!

The ice cream was delicious! There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating during the summer as well. The staff are always patient as we choose what kind of ice cream to get. You get a lot for your money here. And they even have a couple arcade games in the corner. It's a pretty neat.

Parking: There are a handful of parking spots in front of and around the building but an entire parking area right beside the place.

Kid-friendliness: It's a bit hard for kids to see the ice cream unless you pick them up... which is typical for an ice cream place. There's a couple arcade games in the corner for older kids. And they had napkin dispensers on the tables which is handy when you are eating ice cream!

Love the rhubarb frozen yogurt!
Felt bad for the staff working the counter. Very short staffed, but they were efficient and customers were being patient and courteous. Carl's is my families go-to for frozen sweet treat.
