I’m an avid foodie around Chicago, the country, and actually around the world—and this buffet has really wowed me. The produce and seafood are fresh—nothing stinky—and everything is well-fried and well-seasoned. The selection is wide, offering classic American food like brisket, barbecue ribs, and fried chicken, as well as Chinese cuisine that’s usually more rare, like frog legs and dim sum. The melon was really sweet and delicious.
Given that the disposable income in Normal, Illinois, is around $30,000 and the median family income is about $90,000, assuming a 10% spending power, the price of this location is very reasonable for the food they offer. I would give this buffet a 4 out of 5 stars based on my personal review. It’s worth coming here and spending time multiple times. With the high quality and great selection, I highly recommend this buffet for anyone traveling in the area who wants to satisfy their hunger.

Was not happy sitting next to a large group who brought two bags of beer in cans into the side room. Mentioned this to the people at the cashier area and they didn't care.

Are service animals welcome?
I had visited here a couple of times before. Each time, the food was as the last. Quite tasty! I would venture to say that this is EASILY in my top 3 favorite Chinese buffets to go to. My favorite non buffet is in Pennsylvania (which I have reviewed in depth).
As for Imperial, they are very consistent with flavor and ALWAYS have MANY selections available. That is the best part of this place.
One of my usual go-to's is some teriyaki chicken (on a stick). The way they do theirs here is the way I prefer it to be done. My taste buds find it more pleasing, should I say.
There are too many other items that I enjoy at this place. To describe them all would lead to more of a short story rather than just a lengthy review.
All said, I would highly suggest eating here. The food is great, plenty of options, large seating area and fairly priced. Har f to beat it! Or, if you're a truck driver like me, park in the Walmart parking lot and walk over and grab a couple to-go trays and throw them in your fridge!

Food isn't ever good. And every time we go, they try charging us for extra people or relentless about charging our disabled daughter who doesn't eat in public. Even after correcting the bill, it came back with different totals for each person to be close to the same amount.
There was 2 adults and 1 kid. First bill had 4 adults and 1 kid, then second bill had 3 adults and 1 kid.
So we still had to pay for a child that didn't eat, and another child as an adult.

This used to be one of my favorite Chinese places but it's really gone down hill! We went 8/22/24 the food was cold and the Quality just wasn't the best. Even the water was bad, taste like soap! I don't plan one going back.

It’s not even that the food is bad. It’s awful. I can’t remember the last time I ate such bad tasting food. The service is bad. Every surface is sticky. And it’s expensive on top of that!
