Went here with my fiance and her mother when in town on a day trip from Chicago. We were promptly seated in a nice window booth.DrinksI ordered a West coast style ipa (forget what it was). My fiance was stoked to see the dank meme ipa listed on the beer list so she tried that. Who ever curates the beer selection really knows what's up, because mother in law's drink (something fruity) was also really good, i remember it being sweet, tart and fruit-based guava??? None of us tried tasters of the beers/selzers before ordering a pint, we just went off the description on menu and were very happy with the selections.AppetizerWe ordered brisket poppers. Those were great to look at and more fun to eatEntreesI ordered Italian butternut squash gnocci. The gnocci was clearly made in house and the cream sauce, garnishings and Italian sausage made it a satisfying and balanfed entree. I needed a cup of coffee afterwards lolMy fiance ordered jambalaya. It wasn't too spicy and had a great flavor. I'm not going to pretend to be an expert on jambalaya, but after I tried it I would have considered trading for my coveted dish.Fiance's mother ordered short ribs. The beef was perfectly cooked and the potatoes, asparagus made it look very tempting for me as I gazed at it from across the table.5/5We all left happy we decided to come uptown in Normal.

The Good: 1. The restaurant was accommodating when we decided to dine earlier than our reservation. It was kind of them to make us the brisket fries, even though it was before dinner time. 2. Friendly staff. The Bad: 1. Cleanliness - you know it's bad when you are seated and the table and seats are dirty with crumbs. It's not a random crumb here and there. The entire dining area had not been wiped down. I had to use the menu and napkin to clean the table top and the seat of the booth. 2. Food temperature - The brisket fries were almost hot. The loaded potato soup was lukewarm. I'm not sure if that's the way it's supposed to be served? My entree was the same. I ordered the short ribs entree. The garlic mashed potatoes were cold. I had my dining partner taste them to verify I wasn't wrong. Are they supposed to be cold? The Brussels sprouts were room temperature. The short rib was "almost" warm. The only item that was actually hot was the chicken quesadilla. 3. Food taste - everything tasted bland. Maybe because it was served, not hot? The soup tasted and looked very watered down. I was expecting something creamy. The brisket on the waffle fries wasn't smoked or bbq'd. Maybe it was slow cooked? 4. Service - it seems like most restaurant servers ignore refilling water glasses. Medici follows that trend. Overall, this was the most disappointing experience at Medici. It was a complete waste of money. I was so embarrassed that I had recommended this restaurant to my dining partner. Especially with all the options in the area. I absolutely hate making a complaint or sending food back. How do you complain in a restaurant without looking like a jerk or having the staff spit in your food? Why serve food it if it's not hot?

The service was a little wonky, but the great food more than made up for the slight disappointment in the service.

i am eating here right now i love fries so mini and cute as i am sitting here right now eating my tasty fries iook up and to see this beautiful decor i would love to emphasize that they have a beautiful, beautiful tree and stained glass windows. Lighting is amazing. Feels like I just woke up on a beautiful Sunday morning. Overall decor is so homey it makes me feel so safe and comfortable. I love everything about this place including the delicious scrumptious brunch that they serve every day from 11 to 2. Thank you for the best experience of my life.

Great experience! The drinks and food were superb. Pretzels with Gouda cheese sauce and outrageous Brussels sprouts. Definitely will return!

Just average. We went there with higher expectations. The environment was very nice. Great location. The service was average. The food was mediocre at best. I'm not going to spend too much time because that all you really need to know. There are far better places in B/N. 2.5 overall.
