Boon Cafe' (Fusion Restaurant)

I am a serious carnivore, so let me start by saying, regardless of my appetite for meat, this establishment is awesome and they make some of the best food I've EVER had. They also made my wife and I feel very much welcomed and at home. Wonderful food and wonderful people. (We had the fries with chickpeas and sauce, a cheese quesadilla, veggie samosa, and the falafel sandwich - all of which were DEVINE.

Context for the 5 star: I had a long layover at O’Hare so I looked up a place to eat that wasn’t all the way in the city. I’m from Florida so I was not prepared to walk in 20F degrees.

I was the only one in the restaurant and they brewed coffee just for me. Good recommendations on food. Hole in the wall local spot so the atmosphere isn’t extravagant. Food is good (I’m not going to lie and say it’s the best I’ve ever had) with plenty of vegan options. I used to specifically plan around vegan options so this place solid. 4 stars on food and 3 stars on atmosphere.

Biggest reason for 5 stars is service. Good people and good vibe. At the end, Abdul got me another cup of coffee-to-go so I could brave the cold. I clumsily made a mess and he was more focused on making sure I was alright and cleaned up for me.

Found it on my way to the city and needed a quick bite with my family. Ordered the vegan nachos and the vegan clucker sandwich. I enjoyed the food. Staff are very friendly. The nachos were the round yellow chips and I prefer tortilla chips. But overall I appreciate they have a vegan menu with plenty of options. Updated from previous review on 2026-01-15

The vegan options are clearly labeled. Convenient location to grab something vegan near the airport. Not the cutest spot but the food comes out pretty quickly and there are interesting options. We just got some snacks. Updated from previous review on 2026-01-12

The staff here is incredibly nice . Very friendly and welcoming . I was thrown off by how large the menu was and feared it couldn’t possibly be good . I was sort of correct. Majority of our “freshly prepped meal” was microwaved sadly. Fried food was great and was freshly fried. Appreciate the vegan options and for being in Norwood I’m grateful to have the options. I wish the Arabic food was made fresh daily. I was incredibly excited for that . It wasn’t . The rice was hard

I came here with my partner and we were so excited to see how big the vegan menu is! We ordered a salted caramel shake, cheesy burger, chiky mac fries and mjadara which came with a salad. All from the vegan menu, of course. We’re so used to every restaurant giving tiny portions but that was definitely not the case. We left with take out containers! That’s so rare and I’m happy to have more when I’m home. We have so many things we’re looking forward to eating in the near future. :)

Boon Cafe Fusion in Norridge (northwest side of Chicago) is a hidden gem! Whether you’re vegan or not, this place will blow you away. I had the Vegan Mac Burger with curly fries — absolutely amazing. The burger was flavorful, cheesy, and satisfying, and the fries were perfectly crisp.

The service was just as impressive — attentive, kind, and detail-oriented. They double-checked my order, made sure everything was right, and kept checking in to see if I needed anything.

This isn’t just great vegan food, it’s great food period. Highly recommend for anyone looking for delicious, creative flavors with top-notch service.
