They have wonderful customer service and the treats are amazing. I will definitely stop in again. This was my first time visiting.
Use to have an all time favorite but this place might have knocked them out of the #1 spot. Walked in here for the 1st time ever kind if late in the day and everything we got was great and girl was patient because I was trying everything. Fat guy with a sweet tooth and I couldn't have walked into a better place.

I saw their bakery on Facebook and was astonished by the variety of packzi they sell, so I decided to head there asap! The inside looks so vintage, clean, and very organized. I got 4 types of packzi and every one of them were just delicious and out of this world. The nice young lady was very caring with my order and patient as well!
Overall, I highly recommend visiting here and you wont be disappointed! They got a lot more to offer. Also, they take cash :)

I had a Tiramisu cake slice from Mariano’s and it’s not made with mascarpone, it’s just oil…. It coats your mouth. Super disappointing not tiramisu at all.

Honestly, the desserts are a little dry But not terrible. The reason I’m leaving a review is because I came in a couple weeks ago and the lady who took me her name was Diana. She had a very bad attitude and kept rolling her eyes at me because I wasn’t sure what I wanted. I’ve never been there before and I don’t plan on going back.

Just sent my daughter, who is out of state, a variety of cookies. She said they were fresh and delicious! Thank you Palermo bakery for making sure they were packed securely, as they arrived without any broken cookies.
I would definitely recommend your bakery for anyone that lives out of state and wants a taste of Chicago!
I like their cakes its not too sweet.

Fantastic old school bakery. Great selection and highly recommended
Unfortunately, the only thing left of the Italian tradition here are the flags and pictures on the walls. There’s no real cappuccino, no place to sit and enjoy a proper coffee like in Italy. A shame, because with a bit more attention to true Italian spirit and hospitality, Palermo could be a little oasis of Italian taste in Chicago. Instead, it feels superficial — missing the warmth and style that make Italy special.
