My server Melvin was amazing. I’ve been there a few times and he is the BEST server Lucca’s have. He knows the menu and brings out the best recommendations. So polite & fun.
Horrific service and not a family friendly environment. Our younger kids were yelled at by the wait staff, without any initial warning to the parents. Would not recommend taking kids or family. Manager was not accommodating to the issue. Very stuffy.
Edited after GM response below: It doesn’t seem fair that the restaurant GM gets to have the last word with his revisionist history so I edited my review here. As anyone can see below from the GM’s response, he was not accommodating and in fact argued with me in person that his staff did nothing wrong. He said that our children were asked “nicely” — that is false. Both of our kids asked me multiple times on the car ride home and at home who the mean man at Lucca was? Why did he tell me to stand there like a statue? I’m not sure what the definition of “nice” is, but clearly that didn’t happen here.
We specifically asked the restaurant for a table off to the side such that our kids wouldn’t be a distraction to anyone. That was to be thoughtful, as we were throughout the night of everyone at the restaurant. We have been to TONs of restaurants to eat as the same group and with the same kids, and somehow this problem has only come up at ONE restaurant, Lucca. You claim to be “family friendly” but instead of your staff or you talking directly to parents if there is any sort of issue, you speak to the kids directly in a negative tone.
The toys for tots box is a great example actually as that is sitting outside of your restaurant in the office building lobby. Our kids were not knocking it over or being rough, just asked what it was and got yelled at.
As for the other diners, there was one table by us of 3 younger women who were enjoying their drinks. We did not bother them and I even apologized to them when leaving for any commotion and they said it was all fine, it’s just kids. When I talked to John the GM, he told me other diners were complaining.
As I mentioned before, given the above experience that I went into detail on to respond to the GM, I would highly recommend NOT taking your family to Lucca.

Well worth our drive in from Huntley. Celebrating husband's birthday. From start to finish; fantastic. Broccoli soup, not heavy, very tasty. Fried calamari, cooked to perfection. Drinks were strong and mixed well. Fettuccine tableside was exactly how we thought it was gonna be, cheesy goodness. Filet with gorgozola was monstrous and served with a flavorful sauce. Our waiter Luis was knowledgeable and personable as well as John, the GM. My husband mentioned how he had a hard time choosing between the the polenta and calamari, and John came back with some polenta. OMG- out of this world. Thanks for the wonderful experience, can't wait to come back.

We unfortunately lost my brother and we were looking for a venue to hold a celebration of life luncheon. We knew we were going to be close to 100 people and wanted enough space but also an intimate setting. I was put in touch with Sonia who stated she would be opening up the restaurant since they are normally closed to accommodate us. She held my hand the entire way in planning. Her kindness and sympathy put me at ease. Once the day of our celebration of life we were greeted with continued love, sympathy and kindness. Caroline, Karen, Dee and Gregorio took care of us! I have never had such attention and kindness. Now onto the food. We opted to do a family style of chicken marsala, italian sausage, vegetables, mashed potatoes and penne pasta with meat sauce. Honestly the best flavorful food I have ever had! The icing on the cake... the cheesecake for dessert. Amazing!! It was a beautiful light venue on a dark day for our family. This is a hidden GEM full of delicious food and caring people. We will be forever grateful and cannot wait to visit again!

From the minute, you walk in the door, you are treated like family. The bartender makes the best drinks, the servers are very attentive. The appetizers are outstanding and the meals are off the charts amazing. Matter what I’ve had been there several times the food is always excellent. Pastas, risotto, fish,. If you haven’t been there yet, you need to go. You owe it to yourself. Great outdoor space in the summer and a lively vibe on the inside for the fall in the winter.

Parking: Belly staff is very professional and your car is always quick to be brought up to leave.
