We celebrated my mother-in-law's birthday with a lovely dinner at Wildfire. The weather outside may have been cold and windy, but our server, Ruben, and the other staff were warm and friendly. It was during Restaurant Week, so there were prix fixe dinners options that two of our guests decided to enjoy, which were a great deal. Martini flights are always a favorite and our steaks were perfect. I always get the king prime rib, so I can have leftovers, yum. Great desserts, and we always get an extra key lime pie to take home. My MIL was quite happy with everything, so bonus points for keeping me in her good graces. ;)
It had been several years since we went to Wildfire. Two of the six meals our table ordered were subpar. One person ordered steak medium rare. It came out well done. The kitchen did correct it, but that's always so awkward when everyone else can eat and one in the group is still waiting. Another in our party ordered the duck (one of his favorites, and something he often gets). It was the worst duck he has ever had, and while biting into it he chipped a tooth. Wildfire did comp this meal. Our servers was very nice, but service was somewhat slow. Overall, it was not the restaurant we had remembered.
I had a wonderful experience with friends can't wait to return for the famous Martini Flight
We love this place! The food was outstanding from start to finish—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Our server, Jim, was fabulous: friendly, attentive, and genuinely upbeat, which made the whole experience even better. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, the kind of place that instantly puts you in a good mood. A great place to meet with friends.
There was a drink I wanted to have which the restaurant did not have available (4roses) the night we came. Steak was cooked great however was very salty tasting.
Everything was good except for the gluten free menu. My daughter is celiac, and she ordered from the gluten free menu. She wasn't able to finish her meal because she had a reaction.
Food was ok. Crammed six of us into a small table into a congested area where the waiters kept bumping into us. Food and seating used to be much better.
Our server was absolutely phenomenal! I cannot remember the last time I had such great service. Also, I appreciated the vast gluten free menu and accommodations of my son's food allergies.
Server was prompt, took our drink order, but the bar took forever to fill it. She was too busy in conversation with people at the bar to worry about drink orders.
My grilled salmon and loaded mashed potatoes and key lime pie were amazing. I'm going back Saturday. All the food was fresh which is amazing for Chicago.

My 4 sisters and I meet every few months and go to Wildfire. It's a halfway point from where we all live. Your restaurant has great food and servers and bartenders are top notch. Thanks for being a great restaurant.
The food at Wildfire is always top notch. But it was very very very busy on Saturday night and the poor waiter looked like he was being pulled in a million directions.
It was my husbands birthday, I put it in the memo and the waiter never engaged us, he was polite but I was expecting something like are you celebrating anything tonight? What brings you in... something friendly so I knew he knew it was my husband's birthday. When we asked for to go boxes I also ordered a piece of cake to go. When he brought us the piece of cake to go he also brought us piece of cake with a candle and said not sure whose birthday it is but here you go!! The reason he didn't know was because he didn't ask or engage and if I knew he was bringing the cake I wouldn't have ordered one to go! Common sense here is expected when we paid $300 plus for dinner, plus had bar drinks prior to dinner! So wildfire make sure your wait staff knows basic personnel skills and makes everyone's experience, especially a special one, memorable and meet expectations, better yet exceed them for $100 per person! Also my filet had tons of fat in it and wasn't one piece, so not sure it was a filet?
We had an amazing time. Our waiter was always on top of any request and had the most amazing smile. Very cheerful and attentive. Anthony was his name and he needs to be rewarded for his outstanding service he gave us
Usually, I give five stars, but this time the food came up a little short. Ordered the special rotisserie chicken salad sandwich, and it lacked chicken. I'll be back, but I guess I will order something different
