An Oak Lawn tradition, probably the best in the SW burbs!

So Ruan's was our staple and always delivered (very fast). I am not sure what changed but the quality of the food has gone down and the prices have gone up. We used to get more free egg rolls but they changed as well and are barely edible. Such a shame as this was a great place but will now loose another customer including friends who have bailed on Ruan's recently as well.

The first time I ever had Chinese food that wasn’t hot. The egg roll tasted like cardboard and wasn’t even warm. The rice tasted at least a day old and the shrimp egg foo young was mushy and not cooked through, hence not hot.hardly any bean sprouts in it. I ll pass the next time I have a taste for Chinese food.

Food is pretty good - I normally judge a Chinese restaurant by it's egg rolls and these are good... I have sampled a large percentage of the menu, I don't care for everything, nor would I expect to - by and large I would recommend Ruan's for a standard nice old school Chinese restaurant meal

The environment isn’t welcoming at all. A incident occurred and when I expressed my concerns the restaurant didn’t do anything to fix it or at least alleviate my worries. Don’t waste your time or money. The food isn’t that good either.

We did a delivery order of the orange chicken dinner entree and the hunan beef dinner entree. both entrees came with a huge serving of chicken/beef and shrimp fried rice, plus an egg roll. we also order the 6pc cran rangoon. total, before tip, was $43.98 and this included tax, a $1 fee and $4 delivery fee. Food arrived within 15 minutes of being order - kinda crazy, but no complaints! Food was hot and tasty. Maybe could have used some more salt/flavoring in some bites but over all not bad, not too expensive for the entrees, and that entree plate will feed me 3x.

So I learned something new about this place tonight and I thought I'd share. On Sundays all the prices change, they go way up! I paid 25$ for one order of sesame chicken and one order of crab Rangoon, when usually I get 2 meals for like 15 bucks!! Oh yea and no more free fortune cookies, ya gotta buy those too!

When I initially came in to order the server was ok then when I changed my mind the young lady was visibly annoyed. Now that I’ve gotten home and started eating my food I noticed it had egg shells, and a weird cigarette like after taste. Would not recommend…

I paid $23 for an orange chicken and small shrimp fried rice to not have silverware and the orange chicken was so rough and tasted old . Quality have decreased and prices have increased.

Call ahead. They will tell you 10 minutes. It will be ready in five. Food is delicious. It’s also expensive. Can’t afford to eat it everyday otherwise I would.
