The waiter and cook that were working there acted like they knew how to really treat people. And they did. This place has good food and staff that acts like they want it to succeed. They cared about us as customers and they have future restaurant owners written all over them. The low volume 50's music told me these people know what's up

Ordered the Maui pizza. My crust was burnt and hard. We couldn't enjoy the pizza because of the burnt flavor. I brought it to the attention of the waitress and all she said was "I'll let them know"...we were not happy. Wings and macaroni were delicious though. I'm hesitant about going back.

So good! Best pizza I have had in oak park and the closest to a NY slice!

I'm going 4.5 but rounding up.The young lady who took care of us was very friendly; in fact, every staff member we spoke to was great and attentive. We were sat immediately and our food and drinks were brought out quickly.A few of my fellow NY transplants on here have said that this isn't NY pizza apart from the size of the slice, and they're right to an extent. No, this is not the kind of pizza you're going to get at an old family run Brooklyn pizzeria. I ordered the cheese pie and there seemed to be another type of cheese blended in with the mozzarella (perhaps for more flavor?), and the sauce tasted closer to a vodka style sauce than a rich tomato sauce. This is something you'd likely find in the now trendy Williamsburg or Dumbo area of Brooklyn. The kind of places that do a more gourmet style. Now, is that a bad thing? No, not really. I didn't dislike it, but it didn't really remind me of the slice I get back home, which was what I was expecting.I'd come back here, but I'd likely try one of their other specialty pizzas rather than the cheese pie. Those seem to be their more strong points.

I have never such uneven placement of toppings from a "premium" pizza place. About 80% of the black olives were scattered over one half of the pizza. The banana peppers were also placed in clumps. The pizza is just WAY overpriced. You can get essentially the same pizza (size, type of crust, quality of ingredients) at the Whole Foods pizza counter for half the price.

Great service - Good Pizza - Right Price - Easy pick up - love the crust - No more to say.

I do not like the Chicago pizza options so I was excited to try this spot. It was definitely thin crust but so crispy it was almost cracker-like. The flavor of the crust and sauce was pretty mediocre. I'll keep hunting for something I love. The arugula quinoa salad was tasty with a poppyseed dressing. The interior of the restaurant had a nice vibe! I ordered for pick up and it took almost 45 minutes to be ready.

Delivery came well before expected or stated. That was great. Unfortunately that was all that was great. I grew up in NY and am not jaded enough to expect "premier" NY pizza in a city like Chicago, however the sauce leaves a lot to be desired. The pizza gets 4 stars for its appearance, 2 for its cheese and crust, but under 1 for its sauce. Simply unacceptable. Nothing like NY pizza. If you want to try the closest to the real thing in Chicago, go to Dantes on Armitage and/or its sister location on Chicago Ave. Hands down the best in town since Serelli's on North Ave closed a few years back.

Solid NY style pizza, finally someone locally has it. I'm from the east coast and got sick of eating Chicago thin all the time. BTW - deep dish is not pizza, its a casserole.

Good cheese pizza and garlic knots. Very close to NY style thin crust.

We are originally from the East and have lamented for the 3+ decades that we've lived in Oak Park that there was no NY style pizza to be had. Imagine our delight when we heard about the recent opening of Betty's with promises of authentic NY pizza. We had a very enjoyable time there last evening. We started by sharing a House Salad, which was just terrific -- very fresh greens and other veggies that we perfectly dressed (i.e., coated but not swimming in dressing), and a generous size. BTW, we asked that the "House Italian Dressing" that the menu lists for the Chopped Salad be substituted for the "Sweet Onion Vinaigrette" listed for the House Salad. On to the pizza: We were a bit surprised by some of the combo pies listed under the heading "Betty's New York Style Pizzas," like BBQ Chicken Pie, and Mauie Pie with Canadian Bacon & Pinneaple. Really? Not in any NY pizzeria that I'm familiar with. There are, however, also a la carte options of the more usual toppings, like sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, peppers, etc., that would typify a NY pie. But, no matter, all we wanted was a plain cheese pie -- i.e., topped with tomato sauce and mozzarella -- so that we could savor the essence of the pizza itself, and that was available. After a reasonable interval (while we chowed down on the salad), our pie appeared, absolutely piping hot from the oven. So, how did it taste? Basically very good but the crust was not quite what I'd expect in NY -- a bit thinner and crispier than a chewy NY crust, and dusted with corn flour underneath. But tasty, and way better than the "tavern pies" that are favored by Chicago locals. Also, it was cut into wedges, like a pizza should be, not tiny squares. The only other observation was that the surface of the pie was a bit greasy when the pie arrived, evidently from the cheese. The greasiness was less apparent once the pie had cooled off. One other positive note: On Thursdays (maybe other nights too??), Betty's offers half price bottles of wine, which are a true bargain. A $38 bottle of Chianti (so a modest bottle), was available for $19. Other varieties were similarly priced. Considering that glass-by-the-wine ran at $11-12, this was a steal -- a full bottle for less than the cost of 2 glasses. Also a shout out to the servers, who were friendly and efficient. Could not have asked for better service at a restaurant at this price point. Do we wish that the pizza came a little closer to the real deal? Sure. Nonetheless, we'll be back for another tasty, enjoyable meal in a locally-owned restaurant.

I want to work for Betty's marketing department because the world needs to know that this is the BEST PIZZA in the land! Can someone (Chicago Magazine or some influencer type) please throw them an award or give 'em a write-up? The zucchini pie is incredibly tasty, fresh, and original. It's better than anything I've had in New York (or Chicago). You really can't go wrong with any of the menu items. Also, there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, cute n' classic decor, and an oldies playlist. Our kids love it, we love it, our friends love it...you will too!

The pizza was amazing, definitely has that unique NY flavor. Only problem, it was completely cold. We'll try again and hopefully next time we can give Betty's a five star review.

Delicious NY style pizza! (I was born and raised in BK). I ordered over the phone to have it delivered-- great customer service. Had a few slices left over and tasted even better the second day.
