But high priced but the catfish was cooked to perfection the grits need some work but everything was great. Including the young black woman who was the Manager great customer service. Parking is a headache .. got lucky with a space in the front!

I flew in this morning & decided to check tiktok for the best breakfast in Chicago & so many videos about this place came up. I decided to give it a try & BAYYYYBEEEEE! 10/10! The server is amazing. Beautiful & friendly smile. The food was hot/fresh & the playlist gave R&B vibes from the 90s to current. I will definitely be back anytime I’m in the area.

I was excited to partake of real soul food, but this place should be on Restaurant Impossible! The wait staff was totally disorganized and the kitchen was very slow. There were 8 in our party. We were seated within five minutes but it was another ten before someone showed up to take our order. The wait for our food was a solid thirty minutes and when it was ready four or five individuals brought it to us at random intervals, asking who ordered what. The server who took our order was nowhere in sight.

I tried to give this place another chance but something in the kitchen is just not right. First of all it took them forever to bring out luck warm food! The chicken is dry and too salty, fish too salty! The Mac and cheese is so so, greens good, yams YUCK! Idk how or why a self proclaimed soul food restaurant serves yams out of a can but they do. I find that to be absurd! The red beans and rice taste as if the beans are out of a can as well. Idk what took them so long to finally bring out luck warm food. Had I not been with my family for my bday I would’ve walked right outta there! Needless to say this visit is the last. Idk what’s changed but the food’s quality continues to decline! We won’t be back!

I ordered the shrimp and grits for the first time and they were so delicious!!! I’ve ordered from here before and everything has always been amazing!

We had the best everything!!! Service, food and atmosphere was delightful. Our server (Asst. Mgr.) was a true blessing and assisted us with ease. We will be back!!!

Malaysia was such a great server, everything was delicious and everyone was kind. Can’t go wrong here a staple in Oak Park. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Stopped in here on a whim to get some soul food, not expecting the astounding flavors and service we received! The chicken literally falls off the bone, the flavor is stunning. The waffles are incredible, homemade biscuits. I could go on and on! Just go!!!

Every time I go here, I’m never disappointed. It reminds me so much of my grandmother and mother that’s no longer here with us.?️?️?️ lowkey I really think these folks some kin to us . I mean every time i eat from here I think about them. And it gives me a sense of peace ☮️ so big shoutout to the cook/cooks owner thank you for the experience. auntie Uncle or Cuz because we definitely related somehow???

The service was absolutely terrible. It was of waste of time and money for me. I had high hopes for this place but I will not be returning. Please train your servers better.
