Not bad, but not as good as we expected it to be. Service was friendly. Risotto special sounded really interesting, but didn't measure up to the special billing. Presentation was nice, but it was saucy and bland - not risotto-like. Steak frites meat was cooked to temp, but average overall. Overall a bit pricey for ho-hum.
Brunch here was absolutely amazing! Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The menu had a great variety, and everything we tried exceeded expectations. On top of that, the service was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and welcoming without ever feeling rushed. It's rare to find a place that delivers both incredible food and such warm hospitality, but this spot nails it. Definitely a new favorite for brunch!
Great space and atmosphere. Staff was helpful and service wonderful. We all enjoyed our dishes and shared because they were so good. Will definitely be back.
It was the second time in two weeks they've left a key ingredient out of a menu item, along with basic salt and pepper. Maybe if staff weren't standing around and socializing, guests wouldn't get frustrated. Manager definitely sets the tone, and he doesn't want to hear anything negative about his family's restaurant. Lots of excuses, zero concern. Watch out for the extra “restaurant fee” tacked on to your bill.
Citrine is a great place for Sunday brunch. There are super delicious food options that do not disappoint. Always a wonderful place to meet up with friends. The service is always warm and friendly. Great place in Oak Park for any occasion.
Menu revamp is great. Loved the music tracks and vibe- - much improved from on the past very quiet atmosphere. My one suggestion is the strawberry summer salad was a bit too bland and should have been somewhat sweeter. Strawberries were few and far between. Otherwise, excellent food and beverages!
First time going and everything was delicious. Their wk w lost is great too. Definitely going back
Everything from the Tuna Crudo to the Branzino & Salmon main courses was outstanding--and ourserver, Sasha, was wonderful.
Took out a family of 5, and each ordered meal was perfect. Great staff and kid friendly. Genuinely happy to make your meal memorable. We had the Cauliflower, octopus, branzino, Short Rib, Lamb papardelle, Kansas cut, breadpudding, gelato, peach cobbler and beignet. All was perfect and delicious. The rest of the menu is still to be explored and we plan on it.
Always delicious food, and the service was particularly excellent. One of my favorite restaurants.

Great food and lovely attentive service. The Octopus appetizer is an excellent choice and the fish dishes, particularly the salmon, are cooked perfectly. Done through, but not dry. I had a pizza during this visit and it was excellent. As this place is quite literally right next to the Green Line stop, it's a great choice for an evening out of the city in a quality establishment. No need to worry about driving home after that glass or two of wine or one of their signature cocktails!
We've only been to Citrine twice but both times were just perfect, the food, food choices, cocktails, wait staff. We love it!
Wonderful food, excellent service! We loved the Amish chicken, the whitefish, and the Moroccan short rib. Service was quick, personable, attentive and not intrusive. Citrine is now our go-to restaurant in Oak Park!
We had the burrito, crispy cauliflower, branzino special, steak frites, and short rib. All were excellent. Try the Balkan red wines!
Citrine is one of our go-to spots for celebrations as well as regular dinners; this was to mark two new jobs in the family. Drinks are always brilliant, starters were great, we tried the burrata and i recommend. Pork shank was buttery tender as usual, my husband loved his whitefish, son loved his beef. We don't usually order dessert but the apricot bread pudding with pistachio gelato called to us, and wow! So glad we answered. What a wonderful combo. I'll definitely try to make it back while that's still on the menu. We were commenting on how it's usually busy in there, and “loud,” but unlike other places, they've handled it with acoustic panels on the ceiling and fabric throughout. It is never too noisy. We can always converse, as well as hear the music. Service is impeccable. We were checked on by the hostess, the bussers, the manager, as well as our server, throughout our meal. Of course we'll be back.
