Miles took such good care of us while we had to wait for a flight home at the cafe! We stopped here a few times during our stay in Oak Park and the food was delicious, the coffee was yummy, and the pastries were the best! A must stop in Oak Park for sure! ?

Stopped in today - great service, tasty coffee, yummy donut! Cant wait to come try the food!
This place is one our go to spots when we don't want to think too much about what to order! Everything is good on the menu. My husband gets the donut holes for his coworkers almost every week. AND BONUS! We love their ice cream window they just opened up!!

**update** The lovely team at Courageous reached out to me and was very apologetic, and they have taken corrective measures to make sure myself and other customers have a better experience going forward. I really appreciate the effort they have made to establish great customer service at the wonderful neighborhood establishment I know that they are.
Thank you very much**
My family and I have been coming here for years and this has always been my "mommy and daughter date" spot for breakfasts and lunches. I'm not sure what's going on lately but it was not up to its usual standards. We ordered the breakfast burrito as usual with added bacon and the young lady taking our order said they don't do that, I'd have to order bacon separately. --I've added bacon to the burrito for years, it's an "add meat" option. But whatever. Ordered two iced coffees and she asked what kind of dairy, I said one black and one with cream--she said "creams behind you". Rude. The burrito was definitely different in flavor in texture. My 11 year old noticed it too, like it was mostly egg (mushy). Lastly, the restrooms now have to be opened with a key, which is completely understandable, however when I went in it was disgusting. Floor and toilet were filthy, toilet paper on the floor and it smelled like onions. There were more than enough staff to keep it clean today, and now with them being locked, there is no excuse. I'll continue to come here because we love the place, the story behind it's creation, and again, it's our mommy/daughter spot. But I hope they get back on track.

Super friendly and great food. I had a salted caramel latte and an almond croissant and I highly recommend if you’re a fan of frangipane filling. The salted caramel latte had seemingly real caramel sauce in it compared to a flavored syrup and it was delightful. I also had a grilled cheese which was perfectly toasty and the cheese was melted nicely. There was a delay by mistake but Jordan(maybe the manager or owner, unsure) was incredibly kind. I had no issue with the wait at all, mistakes happen especially in a busy cafe on a Saturday, but she was so kind. Highly recommend!

Service is friendly and attentive. Food quality is good, and plenty of seating options. A good spot for a quick bite.

I go there for the zany fruity new Zealand soft serve ice cream, as a possibly healthier alternative to my soft serve swirl addiction. The bread and pastries and sandwiches are good but not generous

The gluten free banana bread and pumpkin bread are so good! Breakfast was great as well! 5/5 for food, drinks were not good so just recommend going for good food and gluten free options.

hit or miss, sometimes i love my bacon sometimes it tastes strange. as if it were refrigerated and reheated. breakfast potatoes also change in too spicy or mild.
honestly i feel if it were consistent i would go more, i just don't know why it isn't.

Breakfast tacos are fresh and DELICIOUS!! Home fries have more kick than the pico, though.

Great lunch spot in downtown Oak Park! I loved the sandwich that I ordered. The menu selections were very unique and there was a lot I'd love to try. My lunch companions also loved their sandwiches. I knocked the food down a star because the donut my son ordered (that I tasted) and the cupcake I ordered were good, but not at the level I was expecting. Still definitely worth going if you're in Oak Park.

Highly recommend this place! I visited on a recommendation from the staff at Unity Temple, and I’m so glad I did.
I ordered the traditional breakfast, and though the menu listed a biscuit, the staff kindly let me swap it for toast. I opted for scrambled eggs, and I’d definitely suggest adding a sprinkle of pepper—it really enhances the flavor. The jam seems homemade, and both it and the butter were absolutely delicious. The potato wedges were seasoned with herbs and not overly salty, though the portion was a bit more than I could finish. The dining environment is bright and comfortable, and the bar seating by the window even has outlets, which is a nice touch.

Surprised to stumble upon this little gem while walking through the neighborhood. I love its mission and enjoyed the pastries I purchased. Worth supporting if you’re in the area.
