Wow! First time here and what a gem! I was fortunate to stop by when they had live music, the Sam Robinson Quintet, who were recording a live jazz album. I had the baked pasta which was delicious accompanied by a wonderful Pinot Noir. This whole Arts neighborhood of Oak Park is a must visit area and Eastgate Cafe is one of its highlights.

East Gate Cafe on Sunday was an absolute diamond. Live jazz and the Covid fries. Will have to return to enjoy an afternoon of music and good food.

We have never been disappointed at the Eastgate. The food is really delicious, and the entertainment on certain nights is a great addition. It's independent and local and there is nothing not to like.

What a local gem this place is! I feel so silly admitting that I have lived in the area for over 20 years and I've never been inside this place. They have been on Harrison in the Arts District for around 12-15 years and I've never had a interest to go in and I can't tell you why. No specific reason, but I am so glad my mom decided to come here on a Friday evening for their live jazz set. I really enjoyed it. It's a local spot so mostly everyone here lives within blocks and know everyone here. I love that! It's like a upscale cheers. They sell the best wine and have wonderful food options too. I did not eat but my mom ordered the cheese burger, fries and her friend had a salad and both entrees looked delicious and it's all made to order. The wine was delicious and reasonable, costing $7.00 a glass and the portion was very generous. The jazz set was awesome. They have live sets on Saturdays and Sundays from what I was told. The live jazz on Sundays is from 3pm-6pm. I really enjoyed my outing here and will be back to support this local location because not only is it a great place with a great atmosphere, but they are the fabric of the community. Please stop in and enjoy a Saturday or Sunday afternoon here, you won't regret it and I guarantee you will enjoy yourself

I had the sausage and a sausage personal ?/pizza. I enjoyed the sausage - it wasn't too salty. The pizza was a thin crust, crunchy.

Wonderful Sunday afternoon Jazz Quartet. I only stopped in to meet a friend but the menu and place is lovely. Will definitely be back.

Beautiful bistro tucked away in the Oak Park Arts District. My mom and I got to enjoy a wonderful dinner there and we were even allowed to have our dog accompany us. The comfort food and atmosphere is definitely something one must experience at some point during the summer. Safe to say we will be back soon!

The outdoor service with great musicians. Top of the line steaks and the vegetables are natural and picked right from the garden. The service by the staff is outstanding. The place is a one of a kind hidden treasure.

Sit outside and listen to music, have some cocktails and an appetizer. The staff are supremely friendly. I felt like they were relatives and great hosts.

Just left Eastgate Cafe, and will never be going back. Was seated after a short wait and ordered an appetizer with one drink for my wife. In less than 5 minutes our fried calamari came out, giving the heavy impression of being frozen only moments before. My wife never got her drink, and we sat for almost half an hour without sight of an employee. Finally walked back inside from the patio to ask for the check, which for some reason was almost $20 for a $14 appetizer. Definitely a waste of time and money.
