I think I just had the best pastrami sandwich I've ever eaten. The owner and the person running the register were super friendly. I would highly recommend this place.

WAEWOO! Seriously what a gem of a place ❤️ the atmosphere, the service, and that’s just the start. The food is INSANE! Highly recommend the Reuben on rye, beef brisket, pastrami, kreplach, just to start! The mustard is even made in house ?❤️ I swear my soul healed. 10/10

Amazing food, atmosphere and service. No one does it better than Paulie and his team. Every single item on the menu is incredible and the staff makes you feel immediately at home. You’ll leave with a full belly and warm heart for sure. 10/10 highly recommend.

Lunch was great. We had the potato lathe, the corned beef and the pastrami. I felt the corned beef was better. The pastrami was too salty for my taste. The latke was perfectly crispy. Love the homemade mustard.

They were very nice and you can tell they are trying, but I would not return based on the food we got. I ordered bagel and lox. The bagel was cold and hard. When I asked if they could toast it, they said they don’t toast bagels (which I am all for IF the bagel is fresh). I ate my bagel and lox with the cold hard bagel because I was hungry, but for the price it was extremely disappointing. We also had the chocolate babka for dessert and it was equally cold and hard.I would recommend they find a different way to store their breads as they are clearly not freshly made.

This place is going to be in Oakpark as long as the owners want to keep blessing us by running this business. The portions you receive are extremely generous and there are absolutely no corners cut when it comes to the quality of the meat. I'm from Missouri originally and so when I have the opportunity to try someones brisket I tend to take it pretty seriously. This brisket is easily in my top 5. The challa bread is fresh and chewy and everything you could hope for. All the sandwiches come with potato salad, mustard and two pickle spears, all of which appear to be made in house. All of this for 15 dollars. I'm sold.
Kid-friendliness: Great family owned spot.

Just delightful from start to finish. Our server was helpful and attentive, everything came out quickly and everything was delicious! I had the reuben, hubs had the brisket, both were spot on. Can't wait to go back to try more of the menu!

Im working down the street from the deli and have been here twice this week. The food is amazing and well as the staff. The owner and everyone else in the deli are extremely nice and very pleasant to talk to. Will definitely be going back anytime I work in the area. The ruben is one of the best if not the best ive ever had. Very clean and professional restaurant. I hope they stay around for a long time. 10 out of 5 stars.

We had a classic grilled dog w/kraut and a pastrami on rye, with taste sizes of deviled eggs and a potato kugel. O. M. G. Maybe we ordered enough food for 4 hungry NFL defensive players. The pastrami was falling apart, and the mustard was 'special'... thought it was way hot, but it was a bit sweet and not too hot. I used all of it.I thought the potato salad side would be, you know, mediocre American stuff. Nope it was the star! Very American, yes, but not at all a kartoffelnsalat. Yet it was sophisticated, somehow. It alone was enough for a man to eat... umm not a linebacker, but a grown man. The pastrami was easily enough for 2.Anyway, add in attentive service, and a friendly chat with the proprietor, and we were extremely satisfied. Score for Oak Park! Then a couple hundred yards to the CTA, and we're back downtown.

We had an amazing time. Everyone was so friendly and the server kept checking to make sure we were doing ok. They were out of a couple beers on the menu, which they let us know prior to looking at the menu. We weren’t drinking so it didn’t matter but it is worth mentioning. The food, unbelievable! We started with soup. We had 3 different soups, a chicken noodle, the Kerplach and the special which was a cherry soup. I would go back just for soups. The cherry soup was very unique and delicious. My son had the salami sandwich and he ate the whole thing. Being 9 he’s a picky eater and love it. My wife and I split the pastrami and the corn beef Ruben. The pastrami had such a wonderful flavor and I’ve only had one other that could compare and this would still have come out on top. The corn beef was so tender and juicy also. The sandwiches were pretty big portions too.The owner, Paul and manager Anthony came and chatted with us and really made us feel like family not just some customers.Every aspect of our visit was amazing. We will definitely be going back soon.
Vegetarian options: The Jerusalem pepper salad was amazing. I have never had that before and was a bit skeptical but is was so delicious. All the flavors blended so nicely together.
Wheelchair accessibility: We have a son in a wheelchair and we’re able to sit in the upper level because they have a ramp to access the second level.

I eat lunch with my daughter yesterday and was very disappointed. I had the large order of Kasha Varnishes and the White Salad plate. Their was 5 spoons of the kasha Varnishes The White Fish salad was good but portion again small, the bagel was cold inside so I asked to be toasted, when I got it back too chewy terrible bagel. My daughter ordered the chopped salad nothing special. After spending $47 dollars we went some place else to eat we were hungry. We unfortunately won’t be back

The wait staff is amazing, makes you feel welcomed right away. Location is great, and the atmosphere is calm/cozy. They have two giant windows that can open for summer to let a breeze through. The food is so-so. Their Kreplach soup is great, but I wish there were more dumplings. I had a candied salmon w/ everything bagel for my sandwich. For 16 dollars I kinda expect it to come out assembled. I might just have to try some other items they are better known for.TLDR 3 stars, great service, great atmosphere.

Wonderful meal! Everything was delicious: loved the matzah ball soup, chopped liver, stuffed cabbage, etc. Reminds me of the great deli food from when I was growing up in Rogers Park. Commendations to the owner and his staff.
