This is one of our favorite places for dinner, but this was our first time at brunch. It was great! The small buffet is perfect to get you started, and also pick up a sweet treat for after the meal. It is loaded with meat and cheese choices, pastries, and fresh seafood. The smoked salmon was especially delicious. The entrees we had were all delicious: eggs benedict, white fish, croque madame, the roast du jour (pork loin for us) and crepes. And the brunch price includes a glass of champagne!

I took my friend from Oak Park to Hemmingway's for her birthday. We had lunch. The restaurant was not too busy and we had a corner table. The neatest patrons were at least 3 tables away. Both of our entrees were excellent, and the service was very good. My guest's birthday was being celebrated and they provided dessert with a lit candle.

It's been our go-to restaurant for many years. The food is always delicious-haven't had any misses. We enjoy everything, and consistently order the escargot, the soup special or the French Onion, the rabbit ragout (great in the fall and winter), salmon, duck breast and the whitefish. I had the pot pie last week, too, and it was delicious. Soufflés are fantastic, too, as is the warm apple tart. Highly recommend Hemingway's to anyone looking for a great meal with wonderful ambience! Great for just a weeknight upscale meal or a special occasion.

My husband and I went for our anniversary dinner. I had only been for brunch with friends and it was delicious! My husband loved everything and is already talking about coming back for both brunch and dinner. It's our new favorite spot just a short walk from home!

This restaurant never disappoints! Excellent service, delicious food. Our waiter was Renee. He is what every waiter should be and so rarely are. He makes our dining experience memorable every time we come. And nobody can carry a martini from the bar to the table like he can!!

The food for the most part was outstanding! We were celebrating my son passing the law bar so we treated ourselves to some Foie Gras...delicious! All of our entrees were great! We had a very informative waiter and they didn't rush us. The live jazz was a real treat! Great dessert! All of those were home runs. The only drawbacks: 1) the basic salad was just that, very basic: Lettuce with some cucumbers. 2) the bathrooms are really dated as is the hallway leading to them. 3) the decor in the restaurant itself looked a little tired. The cushion I was sitting on definitely had put in years of service. My posterior got a little sore toward the end of the evening. I get it, it's an old building. But still, time for a little reinvestment into the space itself. That's why I gave it 4 stars.

I moved to Oak Park 2 months ago and have had lunch outside twice at Hemmingway's. Both times I had the cold lobster salad and it was excellent, as were the cocktails. I had the same server and he is fantastic. The ambience is as if you were in a little cafe in France. It's one of my new favorites and I will have to plan dinner there soon!
