I got some Caramel rolls which was still very good just like I remember; I haven’t been in years. But imma tell you this! Y’all took the old pie crust out and using this thick non flaky, non buttery gummy crust. Put that old recipe back! If it ain’t broke don’t fix it!

This place has been around for decades, I got my wedding cake here over 30 years ago. I used to love this place. It is not the same. I don't know if ownership has changed or not, but the deserts do not taste the same. They used to have the best dessert around. I don't know what happened. About two weeks ago, I went there to get the plain pound cake. The display cases were practically empty. They had 1 plate display with cake, which was already sliced and wrapped, which I did not want. I asked the employee if they had any pound cake, she replied no. I asked her when does she think they would have pound cake, and she responded two weeks, really. I won't be going back.

This spot is a classic. My family used to get cakes from here for all of our gatherings. I also come here every now and then for a sweet treat. I went in today at about 4:30 pm. They closed at 6, so I knew we'd be getting slim pickings. Most of the cases were empty or had 1-2 items left. We chose 1 slice of caramel, 1 slice of lemon, 1 chocolate chip cookie, and 1 slice of strawberry cheesecake. The total was $15.50. I wasn't offered a receipt, and I didn't ask for 1, so I don't know what the breakdown is.
The cheesecake was good but so tiny. The cake slices are huge. The caramel cake was moist and not too sweet. The cake by itself was good. The caramel, however, had a weird taste. I couldn't put my finger on it but I wouldn't buy the caramel cake again. Same thing with the lemon. It was the exact same cake as the caramel. The lemon icing was not that good, though. It tastes more like vanilla and then a hint of lemon, maybe. I think I'll just stay away from the cake slices. I have ordered birthday cakes from them in the past, and the whipped cream icing on those was really good. I added a pic of a cake I got a few years ago. The 2 ladies at the counter were nice.
All-in-all, a solid bakery. I'd recommend going in the mornings, though.

Hands down the best bakery in the chicago land area. Whether its sweet potato cheese cake slices or Carmel cake cup cakes. They kill it every time!!!
Your cashier isn’t very friendly that’s the first thing then she selling old sweet potatoe pies YALL need to be reported. Your lucky I stay too far to turn around and bring this mess back to you but just know I’ll never shop with your refrigerator tasting dessert selling selves.
It's definitely my go-to for great sweets, and I love the kindness of the workers.

The bakery products through the years has been hit or miss. Half of the time the pastries are amazing, and when I return I am disappointed with the exact same product. Truth be told they are inconsistent, but I worth a visit. GOOD LUCK ?

Red velvet cream tastes like you're chewing on a straw, cheese cake taste like plastic, caramel cake was ok with the others being so horrible. You can tell something has changed. Life long support has ended today!
