LOVE the Brazilian empanadas here & the pao de queijo! All the empanada flavors are delish & I love the crust but some of my favorites include: beef, chicken, ham & cheese & the breakfast ones. I also get the Brazilian lemonade. Place is clean, bright & cheery & I had great service today. This is a favorite for me & I travel here just to get the empanadas & pao de queijo.

Great coffee. A very nice shop to sit and enjoy a coffee and a treat. Or take it go and explore Oak Park Lake street. Very friendly and polite staff.Parking: Be happy getting a spot within a block of this place. Parking is difficult on lake street. The best thing is to take the first spot available and enjoy a little walk around town.

Their Empanadas are the star!!! My favorite is the cheese and guava. The chicken, mushrooms, and four cheese are all soooooo good as well. I haven’t tried the rest but will in the future. I usually take pictures of the food but I couldn’t watch to scarf them down. I had a chai latte with oat milk. That was good. There is a good amount of seating for two people. Large parties will not do good since the space is small. Other than that this place is great!
Love this coffee shop! Located at a perfect spot in Oak Park Mulata serves up some great mocha, lattes and fantastic good. The empanadas are a must! A special thanks to the always friendly and welcoming staff :)

Very nice place. The chicken soup is fantastic. And the empanadas! The staff are nice but it is a cafeteria type setup. And they want a tip. Confusing.

Mulata sits at the corner of Lake and Oak Park, a very busy, convenient, fun, yet very family and friend friendly. When I find myself having to work in the area, I make sure I order my lunch from Mulata. I love their Bobo de Camaron and boy, let me tell you, it's delicious. It's a small cafe, but the menu is amazing and if you're in the mood for legit Brazilian food, check out Mulata on Lake & Oak Park, and get adventurous, they are Brazil, at least a beautiful piece of Brazil.Parking: Busy area, so be prepared to drive around or find a local parking lot, much easier and cheaper.

Went there for a late lunch. Good vibe, gets busy during the "rush" hours,it seems. Had the lentil soup - was good - the chicken empanada was ok- felt like there was more empanada than stuffing...Not very filling but good appetizer/snack.First time there - overall, it was a fine place to meet an old friend who I hadn't seen in decades. We were able to stay for almost 2 hours catching-up. Never felt like we overstayed. That was very nice.
