Oh my goodness, let me take you back to a Sunday during Revival Week when the church ladies would whip up a feast for the entire congregation. Remember waiting in line for them to pile your plate with all that good food? Well, I just had the pleasure of experiencing soul food that brought all those nostalgic flavors rushing back!
The candied yams were perfectly sweet and seasoned with just the right touch of nutmeg, and the collard greens were tender, not soggy, and seasoned like someone’s grandma was in the kitchen. And let’s talk about the mac and cheese. Wow, it was baked mac and cheese and not that soggy gooey mess that a lot of restaurants serve.
Oh, and the fried chicken! It was so crispy that I couldn’t resist eating the skin first. Trust me, you won’t want to miss this! If you're craving authentic soul food that hits the spot, this is absolutely the place to go. Don't hesitate; indulge yourself! 🍗🍑🥬✨

First time customer. I tried the chicken, mac & cheese, collard greens, red beans & rice, and the dressing. Everything was really good. The chicken has a great taste! The collard greens had a nice texture, not mushy, the dressing had a nice taste of sage, the mac was really good, I could go on and on, but seriously it was some good made food! Overall this was a very pleasant experience and will recommend this business. Wishing them nothing but prosperity!

This jewel is in a strip mall off North Ave before Harlem. Everything was delicious. I was licking my fingers. The Lemon pound cake can't be missed. Evenly seasoned as I am a senior with high blood pressure. It was truly a home cooked meal. I don't get this type of food in Florida, but I will be going here till I go back home and will tell all my friends here in Chicago. Thank you for real Soul Food. AVIS.

My BFF told me about this restaurant, she loves it. She went to the Oak Lawn location and said the food was delicious. I'm so glad there's an Oak Park location 4 blocks from my house! YAY! I visited the Oak Park location on 10/20/24 and let me tell you the food is EVERYTHING! (this is gonna be a lot) I ordered the chicken wing dinner with rice& gravy and dressing. The smothered pork chops with garlic mashed potatoes, and cabbage. I ordered the vegetarian dinner with mac and cheese, collard, red beans and rice and yams and peach cobbler. I wanted to try it all. The food was excellent. My husband and I have dinner for the week and lunch. Thank you for coming to this area. I will be a repeat customer. The food was hot and fresh, no need to add anything to it, no hot sauce, no salt , the food is perfectly seasoned. Next timeI have to try the fried ribs
