Very cool spot, great service, nice people, but the food is really just not good. I don’t know if it was a bad experience or not and I really would love to give it another chance if the circumstances are right. Very American sushi that seems to cater very closely to your grandmother who has a spice rack that consists of iodized salt and peppercorns that have dust on them. There is definitely a theme here in oak park with the food. It’s unseasoned or salty. Just like margaritas next door or ale house across the street. It’s for a specific crowd for sure.

Favorite sushi in the city of Chicago! Small family owned nook but has amazing freshly made sushi and the best Lychee martini’s in the country!

Sashimi was so fresh, buttery and great quality. I love sushi and it’s good to know there is a quality sushi bar so close to home. I will definitely be making this a regular place for dinner.

This is a go to spot if you’re in Oak Park! The sushi is really good. The rolls are not that huge and they’ve gradually increased prices over the years as most restaurants. But nonetheless they’ve got some really good chef specialty rolls and the fish tastes fresher than most places in the neighborhood.

We stopped by this gem on the way into the city. We had several different sushi rolls/maki along with salad and appetizers. The sushi rolls were good. I especially like their tempura which remind me of what we had in Japan. It was crunchy without being oily.
The place itself was rather small but nicely decorated. The decorations gave off Japanese vibe.

Very small and intimate setting. I found the rolls and presentation fantastic. Dinner for 2 with miso soup and gyoza was about 75$ with tip.

Truly a disappointment. Came in to quickly meet a friend, and ordered a green tea, and said I wasn’t eating at the moment while waiting.
I wasn’t greeted, I was just pointed to a seat, and it was an extremely cold reception.
I don’t want to be coddled or over-served, but at least say hi, welcome in, have you been here before…. Something. They said nothing.
They also refused to let us split the bill because of the additional charge for running a card. Which is illegal actually.
I would have gotten more if they had came back to my table, which they didn’t to even get me sugar for my tea, and the server was flippant and just plain rude when she didn’t come back 22 minutes later. And this is an expensive part of Oak Park. I know food service can be frustrating, but it can’t be great for business to treat what few customers were in there so coldly.
What a let down. It’s so close to my home and would have loved to be able to come to a place I was welcome.
Quite disappointed.

What can I say that hasn't been said about this place? I will forever love Sen and everything they offer. Truly a happy place for me that is nearby. Not enough people talk about this place and I need everybody to show this place love.

Really impressed with this place. We had the karaage and a few sushi rolls, and everything was spot on. The karaage was super crispy and flavorful—definitely some of the best I’ve had. The sushi rolls were fresh, nicely put together, and tasted amazing. You could tell the fish was really good quality. Overall just a great vibe, solid service, and awesome food.
