Great atmosphere — quiet enough to relax, but still full of life.

My daughter and her kids enthusiastically recommended we all go here for Sunday lunch. The food was very good. There was a bit of an issue trying to get food my wife could eat given she has a few food sensitivities which seemed to preclude her eating here. But once we got it figured out, we had a tasty meal. The owner waited on us personally and was somewhat helpful with the limited options on the menu for my wife. He is a friendly guy who takes great pride in his restaurant. There isn't any atmosphere here. You go for the food and will not be disappointed.

Excellent service. Many popular Thai dishes to choose from, some with a bit of culinary flair. We all enjoyed the exceptional service and delicious food. I was adventurous and ordered the Chef Go Crazy dish from the special menu. It was amazing! The best shrimp I have ever had, fresh clean, and cooked just right. Wonderful assortment of vegetables, which I love and the light sauce was bright and had just enough heat for me. Portions were perfect to share so we could try each other's dishes. We highly recommend this cute and very clean restaurant.

The food was absolutely amazing—full of flavor and easily some of the best Thai I’ve had. Service was just okay, but I’ll definitely be back for the food alone.

Neighborhood restaurant, small business owned. Food is 10000/10!!! A small space but the variety of menu is on point. They can customize too. We had pad see ew (beef). It was saucy and tender. My husband ordered chicken pad thai, which was also 10000/10!!! They have soft serve ice cream that changes flavor every now and then.

Love at first bite!

I can't say enough about how well both lunch specials tasted. Peak level of flavors and a warm touch of authentic family cooking. The pad thai sauce was amazing and an instant recommendation. The Pad kee mao noodles texture were tender and bouncy. The spice was above medium and enhanced the meal. The teas had a balanced sweetness and plenty of textures.
The music playlist matched the cozy and bold color pops. The staff were very friendly and offered some samples of the delicious Ube ice cream. Over all my new favorite Thai restaurant and will explore more of the menu.

This place is super good! We ordered delivery and were impressed with everything we ordered (curry fried rice, drunken noodles, Korean seafood pancakes). Will definitely be regulars here from now on!

Been here a few times. Friendly space, good vibes. Fun takes on Thai dishes. So far I have had the Fried Chicken Pad Thai and the Hawaiian Pad Thai, plus various starters. Some of the ingredients are not the freshest.

We came wanting to dine in, but due to staffing shortages the owner was taking orders and cooking all by himself so we could only do take out. Subsequently, he gave us a free vegan sherbet, which was delicious and a nice gesture. The owner understands vegan diets and the menu shows which options can easily be edited to be vegan. My husband and I both got the pad see ew without egg and with tofu and veggies, and it was absolutely delicious! The prices are reasonable and the service was very fast. I love how evident the owner's passion is, and he even has newspaper clippings up on the wall telling the story of how he followed his mother into the restaurant business. I would highly recommend Thai Neighbor for anyone looking for a quick meal out while in the Chicago area.

You can tell that Akkarapol loves what they do. The food at Thai Neighbor is so good and it my staple for a hearty quick meal togo. I don’t have any food restrictions and always choose the “chef’s gone crazy” in the menu because I love being surprised with whatever chef feels like making and I’ve never been disappointed. It’s so creatively delicious that it’s like I’m eating art. Their soft serve is also experimentally yummm. Do yourself a favor and try anything on the menu you will never be disappointed!

Really good Thai food. Much more authentic than many other Thai restaurants. Lunch special is well worth it. Main dish and appetizer for around $12. They also have dole whip soft serve, which is wonderful and very close to the one at Dole farms in Oahu. Go, well worth it. I’ll be back, again and again.

Tiny BYO spot, mostly a take-out joint. The food is fantastic! I ordered a dish at 5/5 for heat and it was delicious. Generous portions: the satay itself was enough for a meal. I have a new go-to for Thai food, and, lucky me, it is right in my neighborhood! Highly recommend. Can’t wait to eat her or from here again.

Ordered the Thai Fried Rice Shrimp & Handcrafted Soda. Both were delicious.
