I was expecting a better food experience. Of the 4 dishes we ordered, no one in our party was pleased. The pizza was "not Neapolitan" which is what we expected. Domino's would have been better. Unfortunately, we will never return.
We love the gluten free options! Wood fired pizzas are great! Nice variations in the rest of the menu - salads are awesome - great desserts!!!
Easter Brunch was excellent! We enjoyed our food choices (the mussels are consistently excellent) and the variety of foods on the buffet. Our server Dave was awesome and fun. Our bar tender Dave always mixes our drinks perfectly.
We were not told it was a Valentine's Day Menu. The food was not good. Not even on par with a wedding dinner at a banquet hall. Very disappointed. Our server was great. The only food that was edible was the bread.
We didn't know there was a valentine's day menu, as that wasn't told to us when we reserved on OpenTable, but that was disappointing, as the options were limited and bland. It was a pretty sad valentine's day meal, especially for the price. Our server was very nice and did his best, but this was a fail.
Warm, comfortable setting, attentive service, and always excellent food. Equally suitable for a family or a romantic dinner. We've eaten at Trattoria 225 for many, many years—and it never disappoints!
Pizzas were excellent. I want to go back with my family to share with them. Wine was also excellent!
We started with the fried calamari which was a bit chewy. The beet salad was more like an all arugala salad. It was lacking goat cheese, beets and candied walnuts and dressing.
.My entree was the Chicken Chipotle with couscous stuffed in an acorn squash. There was nothing outstanding about this dish at all. I left an empty acorn squash.
The Margherita pizza was the only
dish that went well.
The staff seemed confused about who was going to tend to our dining order so we sat, waited and finally asked about who is going to wait on us.

The ambiance was nice, and my waitress was excellent. The steak I ordered was subpar. While it was tender and prepared to medium rare, as requested, my steak was delivered with a pat of cold, unmelt butter, and the steak lacked flavor from a lack of seasoning and, seemingly, lower quality. Unfortunately, I had better steak at Cracker Barrels and at a lower price point, which contributed to my rating of 3-stars because my expectations were not met. My wife had a similar failed expectation with her pasta entree as it was too salty, as was the portobello mushroom appetizer, which had nice robust flavors but way too salty. The standout items we enjoyed, other than the excellent service, were the restaurant's "homemade" tiramisu and apple cobbler-like w/ gelato deserts, both of which contributed to my 3-star rating. Perhaps it was merely an off night or a new cook or chef, but more attention needs to be given to the quality-control of the dishes placed before this customer to warrant the price paid ($101 before adding a 20% tip for the service rendered) and the prospect of a return visit.
Great food. Excellent bar. A neighborhood go-to restaurant that's been here more than 25 years already. Friends and neighbors go back again and again simply because it's a great restaurant.

I like this place but why can't there be consistency with being able to order the most basic Italian food there is? Sometimes I can order chicken parmesan and other times I can't? I'm here right now and they aren't allowing me to order it after I brought a group of 7 here speaking highly of that dish.

We are big fans of this neighborhood gem! So glad they survived the pandemic days have remained open. The food is consistently excellent and the service is exceptional. Bar drinks.... always filled to the rim and complement our meals. One of our favorite appetizers is the Steamed Black Mussels. They're prepared just right and wonderfully fresh and seasoned. Recently, our appetizer had several mussels which had not opened. We talked to our wait staff about it and they replaced the unopened mussels with a fresh appetizer. Their response to this request with so much kindness that makes our dining experience very positive and in our perspective, exceptional. Highly recommend dinner at Trat 225!
