City Barbeque

We had one of the sample platters for 2 and it came with brisket, pulled pork, ribs and chicken along with 2 sides (we picked the hush puppies and banana pudding). Everything but the chicken was full of flavor! The bbq sauces were amazing so it was easy to make the chicken enjoyable. We will definitely be coming back!

I only went because my husband live barbeque. So, I had bought him a gift card and we went and he had ribs, baked beans, peach cobbler, and cold slaw. I had French fries and some of his Cole slaw and peach cobbler - I'm a veggie with 2 or 3 kinds of fish in my diet. They did not have fish, so I had the sides mentioned above. We also shared a grape nehi [remember nehi sodas?], which was as delicious as I remember it back in the day. He enjoyed his food and I enjoyed my fries and peach cobbler and the nehi grape soda. The Orland Park location is nice as well. Today, Tuesday, they have buy by the bone at $1.79 per bone and my husband bought about 4 bones. We will be back on another Tuesday and combine movie discount Tuesday at Marcus Theater with the buy by the bone Tuesday here.

Won't go back. Went there today (1/23/23) around noon. Besides the fact that my fries looked (and tasted) like they had been sitting in the fryer all day long (black, oily, burnt, crunchy, and inedible), my pulled chicken sandwich was served to me w no sauce. I understand that you're supposed to put your own sauce on, but boiled and shredded chicken is definitely not appealing to look at and they should at least toss it in some sort of sauce for presentation. "Garlic bread" was bread w melted butter on it. Not a hint of garlic flavor or any flavor. $15 for a less than appealing looking shredded chicken sandwich, a side of burnt fries, and a small drink. Their Mt. Dew soft drink and free refills was the highlight.

I stopped by on a Tuesday afternoon for takeout. I ordered the beef brisket sandwich, four ribs (they have a special on Tuesdays for individual ribs) and fries. The brisket was good and moist, and they put a good amount in the bun, the ribs were really good -- dry rubbed and you add your own sauce (sweet, in my case), the fries were unsalted and soggy. I'd get carryout from here again. Solid four stars.

I absolutely love their food. Smoked bbq has the best taste and only type of bbq food I will eat. They have really tasty desserts too. Great staff and managers. I was missing part of my order one time and they were so great dealing with the situation. That's a rarity in its own.

I am a vegan, I never place a one star for anyone, however, a friend whose like a mom fell at this establishment and is now in rehab/skilled nursing facility attempting to work her way back to walking again but she still likes the food from this place. I ordered lunch for her though I don't eat meat her due to her age and respect I picked up the lunch for her. When I came to pick up instead of greeting me like a paying customer I was treated as a delivery driver. Please know there is nothing wrong with delivery driver but when they are worthy of receiving good customer service as well. I will of course never pick up anything for anyone here ever again! Disgusting

I went here on a whim to meet my dad for lunch. The service was fast and the food was good. There was an issue with one of the bottles sodas I got and they replaced it without hesitation and with a smile. I definitely will be back

I wasn’t that impressed with my food from here. My brother recommended a brisket salad (he had it at the Park Ridge location). It was ok, I expected better. I also had a basket of fried pickles. They were very soggy, overly seasoned and the breading was falling off. Pickles should be individually fried not as a whole jar tossed in the frying pan. They were expensive too: $8 for a platter. The chicken tenders were good though.This was my 2nd trip here. Last time I got ribs and there was barely any meat on them. For $30 ribs, I would expect something better. Not sure if the two locations differ in how they prepare their food, but we’re not going back any time soon.Also they forgot to add the bun I ordered with my chicken tenders.

This is horrible. How is this anything like the picture of the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich? The chicken was dry and so small. It was more of a chicken nugget. There was no coleslaw on the sandwich and just 1 pitiful pickle. You should be ashamed. I paid $8.99 for this.

Love their bbq. Collards, not so much. I've tried their pulled pork, brisket, rib, banana pudding and peach cobbler. It you want to go cheap but try a little but of everything, try their Chipotle sandwich. I definitely recommend their samplers.

Did I come to a different place then the rest of the reviews? They got my order wrong, left out my side (collard greens) but the food I did have was bad enough that I didn’t want to go back and get the side. I did the pulled chicken and ribs. It’s certainly not smoked. No seasoning on the chicken at all. I got a side of corn pudding…this is not what it is supposed to be. I won’t be back. $28 spent on the entire meal (oh sorry the banana pudding was good.) it was a waste of money.

Overall I’d say that it was really decent. Wasn’t the best bbq that I’ve had, but it definitely beats out lots of other places. Great selection and I enjoyed trying different sauces.

Was excited to try this place for awhile. Service was quick but the brisket was salty and didn't taste good and the food was like warm. The Mac n cheese was okay and I wasn't too crazy about the beans. I did like the potato salad tho.my boyfriend didn't like his pulled pork and said it was also Luke warm. For the price we paid the sandwiches were kinda skimpy and small. I was disappointed and probably won't give this place a second try.

The most amazing southern food that I love. I ate here 3 years ago. The same flavor and food are still here. The courtesy of their employees is amazing.I come from Kansas and the food tastes as Devine as it does their. I shared it with my parents and they are just in awe with it as I was. I am happy for my purchase. Will come back again.
